Hi ladies,

I am excited to report that our SIL has agreed to be our GC!  I just feel so relieved to have this decided on, and I am so thankful to her and her husband, I don't think I'll ever be able to thank them enough.  I finally feel like I'm seeing some sunlight for the first time in a while. 

A huge thanks to @Lincoln79 who offered me some words of wisdom about the process of getting everything organized.

We are hoping to do the transfer at the end of the summer, probably August, so we'll begin the process of medical approval, psych evals, contracts, etc. in late spring I think. 

I know we still have a long road ahead of us, so appreciate the support of this board.  Good luck to everyone this week.

AFM: Contract signed, so now we just wait for 2/11 to come around for blood tests and 2/20 for transfer. FX! We had a great dinner with our GC and her husband this week and we feel even more at peace with this choice.

QOTW: I am looking forward to no sub-zero temperatures. Seriously, I am over winter. We are going to San Francisco for Spring Break in March and have rented a cabin in the Smokies with our bil, sil, and niece for a week in June. We haven't been there since our honeymoon!

I'm just waiting for my appointment with the reproductive immunologist on the 5th. I'm nervous she won't find anything and that all this time I've just had bad luck- but when I look at the test results of stuff I've already done- I feel like she has to see something is up. 

QOTW: DH is planning on doing some remodeling around the house- but I'm trying to save money- so nothing big planned.. I'm just looking forward to being able to open the windows!

Hi, everybody!  Glad to hear more about ladies moving forward and hopefully getting closer to success!  Rooting for all of you!!

AFM, just trudging along, trying to keep warm, trying to figure out what to wear as my stomach bumps out.  Fortunately I told work at 14w so I don't have to hide my growing midsection any more.  Trying to manage my IF brain anxiety as well -- fortunately, I can now pretty reliably find the fetal heartbeat on my doppler, which helps.

QOTW:  Over Presidents Day weekend DH and I are going to South Florida for a few days.  I am so looking forward to a bit of warmth and sun.  :-)  Then sometime in the next 3-5 weeks I am looking forward to getting our anatomy scan and finding out the sex of the baby.

Hi gals.
First PIO shot done tonight! Success! Tomorrow lab for my estrogen blood work bright and early and then imbjust gonna relax at home. Got a busy busy week ahead of me here. First adoption class is thurs night and transfer is Friday and second adoption class is sat!! All day! Good thing I'll just be sitting in a chair! Im much calmer this FET and time seems to be going really fast all of a sudden. Of course my fears are there that this won't even take and I'll have had four month break and nothing to show for this. The yo-yo emotions can begin now.
To top it off DH is being dickish and really annoying the last two days I think his nerves are shot and he's more nervous than me and taking it out on me... Ugh gotta love marriage sometimes.

I'm just truckin' along! Waiting for the results of my Mat21 testing which should be back in the next few days or next week. We will be finding out sex too which I'm so incredibly excited to do.

QOTW: I don't have any solid plans for vacations or anything, but DH and I were talking about doing a weekend road trip or something like that!

Check in: nothing new here. We are basically in a holding pattern waiting for our carrier's next appointment(s) and hopefully I will get to start my meds and cycle in the middle of Februrary. 

QOTW: DH and I have a bet with ourselves...when we run the distance from our home to Mt. Rushmore, then we are going to go there on vacation. We have been keeping our totals on a giant map and white board in our basement.  If all goes according to plan, we should have covered the total distance by the beginning of August and will be going at the end of August (it's 787 miles total). Other than that, I will hopefully be going somewhere warm and sunny for a bachelorette party in June..although that isn't a for sure yet.

Yesterday was my last PIO, yay! Other than that nothing too exciting is going on with me. I feel a little better each week but still struggle with food. :-&

QOTW: DH & I are supposed to go to Breckenridge with friends again this year but I really don't want to. I'll be 17 weeks PG at the time and the idea of making a 10+ hr car ride does not sound fun. Plus, it'll be an overnight ride and it makes me nervous that one of the drivers will fall asleep. And, I don't want to risk slipping & falling on ice while PG. The number 1 reason I don't want to go, though, is that I am soooo tired of being cold!!!

Hi all!

Lots of luck to @Lacyj76 and @jalara48! We had a bit of a lull there with the holidays - glad to see some action!

Well this Wednesday is our NT scan at our 11w appointment. I'm anxious for it to just be time already - while two weeks between u/s doesn't seem bad, it feels eternal right now. I did bust out my doppler and have found baby's hb everyday since Friday if only for a few seconds. It's been very reassuring and while it can be stressful when it's tough to find, it's the right choice for me. We're also doing our Mat21 test and so I'll be on pins and needles waiting for the results - both to relieve the worries of trisomies, and to know the gender!! All up though I've been letting things feel a little more real, even though it's scary for me to allow that to happen. It is fun to feel excited and hopeful, but I still catch myself saying "be careful...you've got a long way to go still..."

I'm still having afternoon icky feelings from around 2-6 pm, but at least now there is a bit of a pattern. It's not intolerable, but uncomfortable - I'll take it though. I don't mind the feedback. Oddly - and I know it's early and I sound nuts - but I'm showing a little! WTF? Last time at 16w I still couldn't tell a thing. This time it feels very obvious, and if you're looking for it, it's there. Not in clothes (esp. winter clothes) but *I* can see it and so can J. Crazy. But again, it's kind of reassuring.

I finished up estrogen patches last Wednesday but decided to stay on progesterone to 12w (RE said 12w, MFM said 10w) - I do the prometrium suppositories which are a little gross and messy, but what's another 10 days? Eh, NBD. I'd rather have no regrets! After next Wed. I'll be down to just my Lovenox shot at 9 p.m. and my vitamins in the morning- which now feels so easy and manageable!

QOTW: I'm so excited to be outside in the yard and do some gardening, smelling the fresh air of spring and being able to be more comfortable outside temperature wise. It does not get that cold in Seattle but I'm *always* freezing - so I'll be excited for warmer weather. I walk around Greenlake and Discovery Park here a lot and so it's nice to be able to do that every day vs. planning it according to the forecast.  We are going to LA/AR/and NOLA in two weeks for J's gramma's 90th birthday, and then to Maui for (what I hope is) our babymoon but also our 1st anniversary in late April. I try not to leave Seattle in the summer because it's so nice here then!

Today is day 6 of stims and was my second follicle check of the IVF cycle. Saturday was day 4 of stims and the first check and it did not go well. I had quite a few follicles, but most were at antral follicle size (6-8mm) and my estrogen/e2 level was only 71! Since I'd already been on near-max stims (300 Bravelle and 150 Menopur) for 3 days, my RE was concerned about my lack of response, especially since we were cancelled at the end of Nov. for poor response. The weekend was super sucky as a result. @Manada and I spent most of it eating, watching TV, and sleeping--just trying to make time pass so that we could get to today and the next check. I also spent a fair amount of time googling e2 levels and IVF and surveying the LGBTParenting and Pregnant after IF boards for input.

Today's numbers were better, but still not great. I know have several follicles between 9-11mm, but a bunch of others are lagging behind. My e2 is improved from Saturday but only 222.

I took 375 Bravelle and 150 Menopur yesterday and today, and my RE is switching me to 300 Bravelle and 225 Menopur for tomorrow and Wednesday. My next check is going to be Thursday (day 9). My RE thinks we will probably stim for 12 days. Thankfully we have drug coverage, so that's not a huge thing as long as we get the results.

@Manada's lining check was great today. She's at 11mm and will keep on taking estrace.

We got cancelled on day 10 last cycle, so I haven't really wrapped my head around the idea of possibly actually having a retrieval early next week. I hope we get there and have good results!

QOTW: I'm looking forward to the ice melting. We had a huge ice storm in Toronto right before Christmas and despite a couple of days above freezing, there is still quite a bit of ice around. It makes taking the dog out and enjoying the outdoors really difficult. Also it's been super cold. I would like to not have to put on three pairs of pants to take the dog out.
I'm not sure if M and I will take any trips. Part of that will depend on the outcomes of this IVF process.
I'm looking forward to a friend's wedding in Washington, DC this summer.

I just wanted to add that while I was getting my lining check they (of course) took a scan of my ovaries too.....  HOLY barren effin' wasteland!   They found a single, tiny 5mm antral follicle in each one.    I know I've been on BCP for awhile, but holy geez!!!!   It shocks me some times how empty my ovaries look after I've gotten used to watching my partner's on the scans.

QOTW:   I'm looking forward to it being warm again, and maybe - just maybe - if my grandpa is still in a good mood, I might be able to take H. up to our family's cottage and show her where I grew up.      I am also looking forward to work as my boss has committed us to doing evaluation this summer instead of the super intense program we normally run, so I'll have more balance and time to enjoy the days.

My last scan where they were looking at my antral follicles I only had two as well (one on each ovary).  It's so depressing to me.

Update:  Out of the 23 Mature, 15 were fertilized using ICSI. Now we pray for normally developing embryos and a few PGD normal embies.

I had my first beta 9dp5dt on Friday and it came in at 249, my second yesterday at 12dpt was 989!  I am over the moon excited.  I am so thankful for our donor and all the donors who so selflessly donate so others can have a family. Third beta will be next Monday.  I'm afraid the nerves won't leave until much further along, going one day at a time.

AFM, I'm trying to be patient and wait for my 1st beta next Monday, the 27th. From what I could tell from my separate post, other people's betas seem to be between 14-15dpo, if not earlier, so it sucks that mine is scheduled for 18dpo. I'm just trying to be patient and optimistic at the same time.

@sammer818 what a clever idea re running to a vacation. Genius! And I love the map idea too.

My lovely wife has been busting it lately. She wants to lose weight before we try again this summer to have a baby. She's been counting calories and feeding us lentils in every form. She's lost 8lbs since the 4th of Jan. I'm telling you she's the only reason I'm not eating a big chocolate cake right now. She won't let me.

Our baby making plans might end up on hold though because we found out some very interesting news today. Our cousin's friend who is pregnant is thinking about offering her baby for us to adopt. We've been telling God for the last two years that if he wants us to adopt He'll need to basically land a baby in our laps. After our traditional surrogate legal expenses, we don't plan to look for any babies to adopt although we are very open to it.

The birth mother's 5yr old daughter is in kinship foster care right now which means CPS is already involved. If she keeps the baby, she/he'll go right into care too.

When we found out from our cousin that the friend was pregnant my wife, without talking to me, felt like she should tell our cousin to let her know we would adopt. Adoption never came up before my wife offered. The cousin never said anything to her but today (2 months later) the friend told her she had a dream she let us adopt her baby and she really thinks that's the best plan and what she wants to do.

Clearly, a lot could change but we'd be happy to adopt. We feel called to it. Birth mom did do some drugs in the first few weeks but has been clean for 2 months and is living with the cousin. I think CPS involvement makes the adoption more possible. She's due in July. We'll see how it goes and would love any prayers and good wishes for the possibility and the health of the baby. - Chris

  When I got home from work - husband said there's a music festival in Boston in May and he'd really like to go.  Made me smile to think of me all big bellied singing and dancing with him at some concerts this Summer.  Mmmmm daydreaming ***

  I am looking forward to sitting outside with our dogs on Saturdays now that we put a fence up.  I can't wait to kick my feet up and soak up the sun.

Minor update for me...we found out we're having a girl!  The DH and I already agreed on a name (thought it was going to take a looooong time!!!).  As for me....I'm already showing and people think I'm a lot further along than I am.  I've had constant headaches which totally blows and I've had some creepy dreams lately too.  Do you think it's because of the pregnancy or what???  Doc says I can start working out again at 16 weeks, which is great because I gained about 20 pounds throughout this process and that has been really hard on me.  My hope is to remain the same weight throughout the whole pregnancy (doc says that's ok!)  Otherwise just chugging along and hoping and praying that all you wonderful ladies (and a few guys) receive the end result you desire! 

QOTW: It was finally warm where I live today (22 degrees woot!) considering it was -15 yesterday it's been a welcome break!  Only 48 days till spring!!!!  That's pretty much all I'm looking forward to these days!

I haven't been posting because I have no news, and also, the group is something of a support group for infertility so as an egg donor a lot of the time I feel like it's not my place to dominate the chatter.  Anyway, my news is that I told the clinics two times (in March and in May) that I could donate again.  Even though they told me last time I was a candidate to donate to a cryobank (is that the right term?), they've backpedaled on that.  I'm not sure they've ever done it before--don't know why they told me they could.  If it weren't for the level of medical care I receive there, I would be seriously doubting their competence at this point.  And after sending out my tax form for compensation, they finally figured out that I'd never actually been compensated (ha!) and sent that.

Check-In: How is it going? Well I started cycling last Wednesday. I was thrown off a bit by the nurse. After being on bcp, you usually get light bleeding and then start injects on day 2 or 3. Well she had me start 3 days of being off bcp, started bleeding the next day. So I think my cycle is off by 3 days. Waste of meds.
What are your next steps? I am continuing with the meds with a little doubt.
How are you feeling? I am just hoping and praying that this works for a beautiful outcome. I don't know how much more I could take.

QOTW: I am hoping for another trip to Europe. I need a vacation.
