17 month old nap (charmedgrl517)

DD is sleeping great at night still (average 8pm to 8am) but all this week she has only been napping about 45 min. She usually sleeps about 1 1/2 hours for nap and once a week a longer one 2 or so hrs. I thought maybe it was because she was cold since it's been super cold here lately (Her room is above the garage and gets chilly with the door closed) so I've left it open and still doesn't help her sleep longer. She isn't crabby and since she sleeps great at night still I'm not too concerned. Just curious if this is common for her age?

Ds1 is 18mos and I'd say since 15 months his nap lengths have started varying.. Sometimes 2 hours. sometimes 40 minutes.. We get one shot at nap time, and how it goes is so unpredictable! His mood is generally fine regardless, and temperature, in our case, doesn't matter (we have a space heater in his room set to 72).. And, he still goes to bed at 8p regardless (also sleeps 8-8).. So, I'd say it sounds totally normal to me!! Sometimes if he wakes up after only 40 minutes (and wakes up babbling/playing), I can leave him in there and he will fall back to sleep in 15 minutes or so, but sometimes the babbling just turns to whining and then I know he's not going to lay back down.. It's really hit or miss!!

My DS is a little older (23 mos) but he's been averaging about an hour for naps.
