Anyone using a chiropractic for back pain?

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone is using a chiropractic for their back pain? Do you think it's worth it? I've had very bad back pain for the last week. It comes on in the evenings to a point where I can hardly stand it. The doctor gave me codiene but I don't really want to be taking medication if I can help it. :) Cheers for your advice ladies!

  • I've been in twice a week and twice a week physical therapy for my sciatic pain. It's the only reason I can walk at all.

  • I go and also get a message with mine for hip and back pain. It's great. Plus mine is work comp so its paid for. Got pulled down by a crazy lady.
  • I go every month for the last 4 years. It is a lifesaver, but I have to admit getting adjusted while pregnant is not the same since I don't lay flat on my tummy. The last two times I went it actually hurt a bit. I fell in the snow yesterday so even though I was just there a week ago, I'm going to try to get in tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon!

  • I've been seeing my chiropractor for over 2 yrs now and I'm so glad I've kept up with my appts!! He was great about squeezing me in when my sciatic started hurting really bad! And he even rescheduled me when he had a cold cuz he didn't want me to get sick knowing I was pregnant. I love my chiropractor!!! I'd be in a lot of pain without him!
  • I started seeing a chiropractor a couple weeks ago and I definitely feel better. My chiropractor is also trained in the Webster's technique which is supposed to help with positioning the baby to decrease the likelihood of a c-section.

  • I've been experiencing quite a bit of pelvic/hip pain and over the past week it got so bad that it was actually extremely painful even just to walk.  I've never been to a chiropractor, but I was willing to try anything to help with the pain.  I went twice last week and I am almost 100% pain free.  I'm amazed at what just a few small adjustments did.  I definitely plan to continue getting adjustments throughout my pregnancy.

  • I am so afraid of a chiro. I watched my grandmother's treatments when I was young and they seemed so violent that I was traumatized. It looked absolutely excruciating.

Yikes. My experience has been the opposite. It's very gentle and not painful at all. I have found it helps with back pain and even rlp. I was skeptical at first but really think it's helping

  • I do massage twice a month for the last two years. I work as a nurse and we have a ridiculously high injury rate, so I consider it a "business expense". Switched over to pregnancy massage now and am very happy!
