I'm 37w3d, labor with my son started at 36w6d, he was born just after midnight at 37w. So it's really weird to be "more pregnant" than I was before, and to not feel any closer to delivery. However, with ds I know it pretty much just started at dinner and WHAM we were in labor.
I actually feel the opposite. I feel like she is never coming out. I actually started thinking about the fantom pregnancies we have heard about and had to reassure myself that I AM really pregnant.
We had my shower yesterday. I have just finished putting away everything. Now I'm ready for her to get here, and it's a scary thought! Three weeks until I'm induced !
I'm 39 weeks today and we have a pretty nasty storm going on. As excited as I am to meet my LO, I'm thankful nothing seems to be happening yet. Also, I only have 5 days left of work! I've had everything for him ready for a couple of weeks so now just pace around the house in anticipation.
A friend wrote and said "you have less than 20 days left!!" I have no idea why that's more terrifying than "less than 3 weeks," but it is.
Also, my cervix check on Thursday resulted in a bunch of red spotting that night. Even though I knew what it was from, I started panicking when I actually, legitimately thought about going to the hospital that night. And my first concern? "I need to write out lesson plans so my classes can get covered!"
Speaking of which, is anyone else feeling duped about nesting? I was subconsciously under the impression that it was an enjoyable time for the mom to be. Thanks Disney and rom-coms! That's bull. I'm such an angry nester! Like a mad pregnant hurricane. Hand me the bleach wipes or get the fuck out of my way. Poor FI hides in his office most of the time lol.

This is me, too. DS was born at 37w1d and I'm now 37w4d. I know in my rational mind that it could still be weeks, but I really felt like Baby Boy was going to be here by now! I am constantly on high alert for labor signs because last time my water broke with zero prior warning signs. "Calm the eff down, you cannot control this" is my personal mantra this week.
Hit the less than 30 day mark this week. Nursery is finished and there is a car seat in my car! DH and I are try to go out on dates every weekend...because it maybe our last for a while.
Um, her arrival is scheduled! I'll be 39w5d when that date rolls around so I knit there's no guarantee I'll make it to that point, but I'm praying I do... definitively saying "this will bemyabsolute last day of work" is weird!

My Wedding Bio from back in the day
I thought my water broke Wednesday morning, and had to do the requisite trip to L&D after I saw my doctor. I hate L&D. I was in a cold cold room (like ice on the windows) and it took forever. Turns out it was a UTI, but it made me dread the real trip.
Friday night I had contractions like a mo fo and thought it was the night. Baby has dropped ( even though the internets tell me a second baby doesn't drop until labour) and my body just feels like it's time. So, any day now I guess, but you never really know. Anyway, shit got real.
Upside: DH and I have transitioned from "WTF are we doing having another baby?!" to "can't wait!".
I had my shower yesterday and had very strong BH (or perhaps "real" contractions) the entire time. I had to stop whatever I was saying at the time and just breath. People kept asking "are you okay?" "Are you going to make it?" I have been having really strong BH/contractions (really not sure what they are at this point) since last Tuesday so I kept telling people - it is fine, I am okay really (although in my mind all I could think was come on baby lets amp up these contractions and make them actually do something!). 9 more days until my EDD.
Lol H just came in the room and stood there looking at me. I asked him what was up and he said, "I'm bored. I'm ready for the baby to be here." That's a first! I know he's excited for the baby, but I didn't realize how ready he was!
Super nesting has set in. I honestly wanted to clean the movie theater floors yesterday... Bizarre. My c/s is 2 weeks from tomorrow unless she comes on her own before. Oh and I pulled out the newborn diapers and holy crap... I always forget how teensy!

I know! Compared to DD's size 5 they are like ridiculously small!!
Baby has dropped, we did all of our final registry purchases yesterday, I'm washing the last of LO's things right now, DH is setting up the car seat bases in our cars today, we've put together the pnp, I opened up our first pack of newborn diapers and set them up in our diaper holder... Way too many "oh shit, this is getting real" moments this weekend!!
A nurse told us on Friday that if LO keeps up with his feeds like he has been, he will be home in 2 weeks or less. Holy crap. In 2 weeks I will have my baby home!!

I just stared at them yesterday for the longest time... how could DS and DD have EVER been that small??? And then there is this moment of omg... we are starting all over! My emotions are all over the place!
@slwprincess I should show you a preemie one! It makes the NB ones look big!
Oh yeah! Gavin had those for a little while and they are crazy small. Like I don't think they would fit on some of DD's dolls! Then again... she has some chunky babydolls ;-)
The waiting game is hard. Harder than I thought it would be. Last week was my first week off and after doing all the "last minute" baby stuff on Monday I had to find things to keep me busy. Example: I went to Target 3 times in 4 days.
I'm done with work, have my last ultrasound and appt tomorrow and C-section is scheduled for Thursday. And, my mom came last night!!! It's more real now than it ever has been!!! These boys are almost eight years in the making and we can't wait to meet them!

Due February 13, 2014 with two BOYS!
Henry Leo, 4# 13oz, 18.75 inches and Samuel Thomas, 6#, 18.5 inches arrived via c-section January 30th!
Went to target this week for post partum supplies, bought some gas drops for the baby. Just made realize I really am starting all over with a newborn that's gonna be uncomfortable with farting, lol. I'm excited/nervous/scared shitless!
Had her car seat installed yesterday and was fighting back tears once I got there and waited in line. Felt like an emotional mess over something so silly as police installing a car seat in my car. Also shit got real when they reminded me how sucky my two door car will be when dealing with a baby.

A close friend of mine had her baby at 26 weeks at 1.3lbs and the size of the diaper they use on babies that small is just mind blowing! I remember just holding the diaper in my hand and staring at it. Baby girl is now home and is 12lbs and thriving!!
@bookshelves I've had a couple when I had laproscopies and they suck. Not like blood draws where they are over relatively quickly. IVs are there for hours, days...pumping directly into your veins. Oy vey.
My needle phobia stems from having horrible veins where they have to dig and dig. I'm traumatized!
