Question: Weak ovulation or anovulation?

So, it's not really essential that I know this, but I'm curious about the answer.

FF says I'm either 20 DPO or 27 DPO, depending on which setting I put it on. However, all settings detect ovulation at some point in my cycle.

I had a negative blood pregnancy test a few days ago, and I haven't started my period yet. (Though it should be noted that I've been on Provera for 3 days now.)

The nurse practitioner at my RE office said it was possible I had a weak ovulation. My question is, wouldn't I have started AF by now if I had ovulated at all? Would weak ovulation keep you from beginning a new cycle? Can I definitively say that I didn't ovulate this cycle?

Results from CD 45, in case it's relevant:
Ultrasound: No definitive signs of ovulation (either that just occurred or were about to occur)
Estrogen: 21
Progesterone: 1.05
I realize that the numbers probably don't mean much on a random cycle day with no baseline.

Well, all I can find in regards to weak ovulation and anything LP related is saying that that weak ovulation can cause a luteal phase defect making the LP super short.

I'm guessing you didn't ovulate at all.  If you just ignore the temps at CD16-26 it looks a lot more likely that you didn't ovulate because the temps at the beginning of your cycle and now are pretty much the same. 

My vote goes to anovulatory.

@Joy2611 I was thinking the same thing about ovulation either being a yes or a no. The only things I can find about it are other Bump threads where people have just typed what their doctors explain to them. The one explanation that kind of made sense, but may be inaccurate, mentioned releasing immature eggs. I still don't know if that even makes sense.

@EllyD14 Yeah, the lack of period is really making me think I must not have ovulated. That would totally make charting almost useless (for my body) in my mind. I think my chart looks fairly ovulation. How I am supposed to trust it if I don't know until "20 DPO" that I never actually ovulated?? I mean, I guess if I'm being monitored from now on it won't really matter, but it's crazy that even though I'm doing all of this (and I even used a fertility monitor), I still don't know what's going on.

Also, thanks ladies! Once I have all my testing done I'll get to talk to the RE instead of the nurse practitioner. If I get any definition of "weak ovulation" that I can understand, I'll share it.

Yeah, I've looked at your chart a LOT recently and I thought you ovulated.  But given that you're now 20+ DPO and (even with a random draw) your progesterone was only 1, I'm thinking the only option is that I was wrong.  And FF is just as confused.

I've had anovulatory cycles where my CHs got moved around a lot and then finally taken away completely.  I don't know what's up with your chart.  I wish I did.  And as much as temping seems pointless given your current chart, hopefully that won't always be the case for you.

Thanks, @EllyD14. Once I'm done with Provera, I think I'll temp during my testing cycle at least. If that proves to be as useless for me, I might have to give it up. Boo.
