Potty, making out, and proper washing of your lady bits

How's that for a thread title? My friend and I have three ongoing debates:

1. The word potty: She says potty can be both poo or pee. Nope, if I have to go potty that just means pee.

2. The phrase making out: She says making out can include everything but sex. Nope, I say making out is kissing only.

3. Proper washing of your lady bits: She says you only soap up the front doors and use a warm water rinse after opening the doors as that is sufficient. Nope, I say suds belong both on the outside and more suds once you open the doors. (This would be like only brushing the teeth you can see when you smile!)

Who is right?

First and foremost, I'm sitting right next to DH and he suddenly goes, "I'm going to stop reading your thread titles," while laughing uncomfortably.  He was talking about this one.  Good job!!

1. Potty is a dumb term for both unless you're in the process of being potty trained.  You're going to the bathroom. 

2. Making out is kissing, maybe a quick feel.  Anything more than that is, well, more than that.

3. No suds up in there!  I only suds on the outside.  I've always been taught that if you soap inside you can alter the Ph and give yourself a yeast infection. Your body cleans itself out, hence discharge.  That said, after no-condom sex, I will clean all up in there as needed.

Making out is kissing. And I agree with PP, some boob groping also.

Nooo suds on the inside. I can already feel the yeast infection coming on if I tried that.

1. Potty is for toddlers 2. Making out is kissing, maybe a little bit more, definitely not "anything but sex" 3. No soap directly on the lady bits, and definitely not inside. Just rinse with water. Soap can be drying, irritate your tissues, and interfere with the natural healthy vaginal flora, leading to infection. And before anyone says ewww gross, this information came from my old gynecologist who specialized in vaginal/vulvar health. If you do use soap, it should be very mild and contain no dyes or perfumes.

1. Potty is what you say to little kids or my dog! DH and I just say we're going to the bathroom
2. Making out is just kissing and I agree with PP there can be some minor groping.
3. Soap on the outer lady parts but never inside.

I only say I have to potty when I gotta poo. Making out is kissing passionately and I soap up the whole thing.

1. I don't use the term potty, but in my mind it would refer to both, since they both involve use of the toilet or 'pot'.

2. Kissing, but very passionately and often involving tongue. Making out is strictly mouth-to-mouth, not mouth-to.... other things.

3. Outside the doors only. I've always been taught the same thing about affecting ph and causing yeast infections. Like others have said, it's all self cleaning inside there.

Potty is just going pee. Making out is just kissing, but like heavy middle school kissing. No soap up in the bits. PPs said it perfectly... I don't want to alter the ph and end up with a yeast infection.

1. I detest the word potty and don't use it. It's "going to the bathroom" and it can mean either.

Glad to see I'm not wrong on all accounts! I also hate the term 'potty' and don't use it and never will, we were merely debating the usage. Just to be clear! I do like the term making out, though! <:-P

Please tell me that you're actually adults who don't speak in euphemistic terms like that. I don't know what 'potty' as a verb means because I don't know anyone who says that. I also don't know about the second one because whatever -- don't you just say the name of the act? And I hope that you can talk about your genitals using words like "labia" and "vagina" and "anus." In which case, no, soap should not go into your vagina or be uses to wash the labia minora, or the inner lips.

Agreed, no soap in the vagina. But on/around the clitoris, labia majora/minora and the vulval vestibule, heck yes! (Is that better?)

Hmmm ... I still say nay on the soap. I mean, that area doesn't get dirty -- it's fairly internal. What would need to be washed away?

3. I used to suds up all doors, but I've learned from multiple people... You're NOT supposed wash the inside. Its soo bad for the PH of your vajay and makes u prone to so many infections. That area was made to self clean. All u need to wash is the outside
