Contractions?? Dumb question ahead....

This may have been asked before, I tried searching but it send me to too many different topics that don't pertain..

What do contractions feel like??  like bad menstrual cramps?? Where is the pain mostly located? FTM and starting to freak out in the 3rd trimester. TIA

You may get different answers, but for me they did in fact feel like bad menstrual cramps.

I never had cramps but contractions were very obvious to me. It was something I had never felt before and there was no doubt what they were.

There was a period of early labor when I just felt like I needed to poop. I sat on the toilet a lot. But again, even though it wasn't painful, it was very clear that labor was coming.

For me they felt NOTHING like menstrual cramps. They were more like a sharp stabby pain that hurt from the inside out. It's really hard to describe. .

I back labored. In he beginning they felt like a pinched nerve in my lower back that would last for about 30 second every 10 minutes. That lasted for about an hour and when they didn't slow down I knew was time to go to labor and delivery. About 45 minutes later I started getting horrible contractions, they felt like my spine was being pulled apart, I could barely stand, talk, or breath during them. Yes back labor sucks!!

My first labor was entirely in my back and butt. It felt like the baby was trying to push out of the wrong hole. The pain in my rectum was horrible. It's different for everyone. But I think one thing is for sure: you will definitely know it when it's time!

Imagine the worst menstrual cramps/stomach cramps/poop pain you've had in your life, multiply it by 100 and then imagine pushing a watermelon out of your hoo ha.
