Organizing construction paper?

Okay this is a ridiculous problem, but I thought some of you crafty ladies might have a suggestion. I have a big pack of different colored construction paper from Costco. My problem is that when I or DS want to get a piece of a certain color, we have to pick up ALL the papers on top of it to get the right one out. This is a PITA for me and DS ends up knocking the whole pile over or bending and ripping the pages he is trying to grab. The shrink wrap is long since destroyed and gone, so there's nothing holding the pile together. Any suggestions for organizing it...just hanging files maybe? Some kind of shelves?

Maybe I should get one. I wish I could keep the paper in the built in where it is now, but I might just have too much for the space. I could put my printer paper and card stock in the little dresser too.

There is a closet in the hallway that would be a good spot for a litte dresser. I could put his coloring and activity sheets in there too. I always have a billion printed out because he goes through them so fast. That's probably a solution to a lot of my organizing problems! Thanks!

I take out a few sheets of each color and put them in a magazine file like this:

If you don't stuff it too full you can flip through it easily enough and pull out what you need.  Then we refill it as necessary.

Target sells flat plastic containers that hold 9x12" paper. The renest (?) brand stuff.

I use one of those accordion (sp?) File things. I dont organize it by color or anything but I split it up between the different files so there aren't so many pieces all together.

Something like this. I also keep like color wonder paper and stuff like that in a slot too. And some bigger sticker books etc
