Name Poll?

Is anyone else having issues deciding a name?  DH is being a bit of a stick in the mud and likes some strange names (Arwyn, Tiberius, etc) so we're still debating a bit.

I posted a name poll in the Baby Names forum.  I thought it might be fun, if any of you have done the same, to put them all in the same place on one thread in our May board so we can all vote on eachothers.  I didn't want to create a separate one here, I kind of feel like that is what the baby name board is for.  But if you post a thread or poll on the name board, maybe you could link it here too for fun.

Hope this isn't too AW, I'm interested in yours too! TIA

Re: Name Poll?

  • My badge says Jessica Georgene even though it's not 100% decided yet.  DH is still going through the damn baby name book letter by letter.  So far, Jessica is just the only name we agree on.

  • I liked Arwen but DH vetoed me. We are currently down to the top 4 names. My Dh suggested making a tournament bracket (as a joke) but I ran with the idea. It sounds silly, but totally worked.

  • If your DH is anything like mine, he got Arwyn from LOTR and Tiberius from the original Star Trek?  My H and I are both giant nerds, but didn't want to pigeon-hole our son with a name that was clearly derived from one of our nerd-hobbies lest he be mocked by our family.  So we made his middle name Xavier.  It's a real name, but also gives my husband the satisfaction of an X-men tie-in.

Now, of course, he wants DS2's middle name to be Logan so we can have X-men themed children...

  • Lol, my husband is campaigning hard for Tiberius to be our sons middle name. Huge Star Trek fan.

That's a definite no from me. Thomas is close enough...and also DH, his dad, and my dad's name. Clear winner.

I voted Mae btw. I think it's really cute and flows nicely.

  • FWIW, I named my cat Arwen and get a lot of grief for that.
  • We have a couple of names picked out, and although there's definitely a front-runner, we're waiting until we see her to make a final decision.
I like using one traditional and one unusual name. That way, the kid has a choice. DS is Dylan Atticus (before Atticus suddenly became all trendy). If this one had been a boy, name would have been Nathaniel Seeley.
    I really like Arwen/Arwyn. :)
