Is it weird...

that my ILs have a wall that they have displayed DH's accomplishments from high school? That was over a decade ago now. Like they have his tassels from high school framed, his diploma and various other music awards and plaques displayed on a wall in the den.  And the same for his sister. I mean, they can keep the stuff, we don't want it necessarily but it just seems odd they have all these old things up that aren't really theirs.  Do you have your hs diploma? Do your parents?

Maybe it's because my parents don't keep anything, so if I wanted it I had to take it.  IDK, just thinking about it seemed weird.

I think I have my diploma but I'm not one to hang up stuff on the walls and I don't save anything.
My parents don't have this stuff hung up but DH's grandparents have all of their kids accomplishments on the wall.  Real Estate articles from one uncle, police rewards from another.

Did DH's parents graduate?  I only ask because maybe they view it as a huge accomplishment and want to be proud of their son

Agree. Your post kind of reminds me of the Gaylord Focker wall shrine in the movie Meet the Fockers. Honestly, I don't think it's weird. I've been contemplating framing a baby outfit with a picture of the girls wearing it.... So, maybe I'm weird!

My parents have a senior pic of each of us girls up on the wall, but that's it from high school.  The fact that they keep them is not weird.  I keep pretty much everything.  But the fact that it's still displayed is a bit odd.

Also, this stuff is displayed way more prominently than any family photos.

DH and I went to the same hs, so I have some of the same awards.  They're in a box in our basement, not on my mom's wall.

Yes, they both have college degrees (and no, theirs aren't on the wall) although they do have some awards FIL/MIL have gotten in recent years displayed also.
