Thoughts on LLL?

We are new in our town and I am hoping to meet other moms here.  I thought about attending some LLL meetings because they are right here at the library and they start for the new year next month and meet once a month.  Does anyone have experience with LLL?  Will DD be too old or do they take moms with babies of all ages?

The group I went to was kinda nice and had lots of kids but they were pretty darn condescending if you didn't do full out AP. I'm fairly crunchy but they sort of turned their noses up at me then ignored me when I told them I had my baby at a hospital (of all places! and I planned it that way too!).
