So today was a good trip to the MFM. He was so ready for my appt that he came to the waiting room himself to get us. The teratoma doesn't seem to have grown much in a week. It appears to be mostly fluid filled which is a good thing. Apparently when it has more solid tissue it tends to "steal" blood from the fetus leading to what's called "hydrops" which can be fatal to the fetus. It doesn't have a whole lot of blood flow which correlates with the more fluid vs more solid tissue makeup. Her heart looks great. She still seems to be unfazed by the presence of her co-habitant. She kicked me in the ribs while he was checking her feet and legs looking for any deformities. None seen. She danced when he turned the doppler on checking her blood flow in her umbilical cord. We are still on track for a C-Section sometime between 30-35 weeks. Shooting for 35 of course. Go back in ten days for an MRI and another Ultrasound check. Then two weeks after that we meet the pediatric surgery team. So far, so good!
Edit: Big thing that I forgot, as far as the specialist can tell so far, the teratoma is entirely outside of her pelvis, minus a tiny stalk that connects her and the teratoma
