My DD just turned 10 months this week and I feel like we need to tweak our schedule. She has been taking 20+ mins to fall asleep and only napping for 30-40 minutes for the last 2 weeks. She used to have short naps until about 7 months when we started a bit of nap training and she then got into a good groove of longer naps. She was doing 2 hrs of awake time before #1 and then 3 hrs before nap #2 then 3.5-4hrs before bedtime (always around 7ish).
I've extended her morning wake time to 2.75hrs with some success on a couple of days. What does everyone else do? I leave her about 15 mins when she wakes but she isn't going back to sleep (usually wakes crying but calms relatively quickly). I can tell she's still tired. No new milestones and no new teeth coming either.
Thanks!

Re: 10 month old nap schedule
The only thing I can think of that might help you is to wear her out. Since you mentioned it takes her 20+ min to go to sleep. We play and keep her up until she is ready to pass out
My DD is on a fairly regular 2 Hrs up 2 Hrs Down for naps. She will talk for about 10 minutes in the crib before she falls asleep and if she wakes before the 2 hrs are up then we leave her to again talk and "play" in the crib. We always make sure that her little tummy is full before each nap. She will take on average 3 naps a day but on Sundays its usually only 2 naps because of our schedule. She does extremely well with modifications. The thing with putting your child on a schedule is you want to give her room to get used to and adjust so you know its going to work. Before her schedule existed she was always angry and irritable right before she would go down. Now she will snuggle with her blanket or play with her hair so we know it is getting close and we should get a bottle around.
