Does anyone have a good preferably simple chili recipe that they can share? I cant seem to find one I like. I'd like to cook it in the crockpot but any recipe is appreciated!! I want to master it before the super bowl!! TIA
I have one that's good but its cooked on the stove. Once this baby that is sleeping on me wakes up I'll post. I'm sure you could throw it in the crockpot.
Chilli is super easy - I just do this on the stove but I'm sure throwing it all in the slowcooker would work too
-Ground beef/turkey -one large can of kidney beans -one can of maple flavor pork and beans (I like the sweetness of this) -one can of chick peas -one can crushed tomatoes -one can of tomato paste -one onion -some chopped celery -some chopped peppers red/green -sliced misgrooms -chilli seasoning to taste -chilli pepper flakes to add some spice if you want
I cook up the meat first then add the veggies until tender then add the rest of the ingredients and cook till it is all warm. Oh yeah I rinse off the kidney beans and the meat to get rid of excess grease.
Takes about 20 mins really.
Sometimes I will add a jar of my moms homemade salsa as well and that is yummy too.
-1lb ground beef -1 29oz can tomato sauce -1 14.5oz can of diced tomatoes -1 can red kidney beans -1/2 small onion chopped -2 stalks of celery chopped (optional) -1/4 cup chili powder (or 3 Tbsp if you don't want it too spicy) -1 tsp ground cumin -1tsp garlic powder -1/2tsp black pepper -1tsp brown sugar
Brown ground beef with pepper and onion; drain. Add all items to a stock pot and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 30 mins.
You could follow these steps but just add it to a crockpot instead. I'm sure it would just need to cook on low for a few hours.
1lb ground beef 1 large can of diced tomatoes 1 can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed 1 can of pinto beans, with liquid 1 packet of chili seasoning Chili powder and garlic salt
Brown beef with chili powder and garlic salt. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to boil then set to simmer until ready to eat.
I mix mine all in a like a dutch oven then bake for an hour in the stove but you could easily put it in a crockpot.
1 pd hamburger browned..I add in a few things of celery chopped up and maybe half of an onion 1 large can tomato sauce 1 can of diced tomatoes 1 can of chili beans (if making it when my husband is home i leave them out bc he hates beans) a few TBS of chili powder
I like to put cheese on top and I mix in some instant rice when serving in each bowl
