Re: FFFC

  • I wore a pre-pregnancy, non-maternity dress to my shower. The fact that it fits AND looks better than the 7 maternity dresses I ordered makes me ridiculously happy.

Hah, I'm wearing a non-maternity dress in my pre-preg size right now, but it's a ridiculously matronly LL Bean hand-me-down from my mom so it is SO not worth flaming me for. This thing is constructed like a tent. The only way I can tell that it was SUPPOSED to be my size is that the shoulders and arms fit.

I couldn't care less about losing the baby weight relatively quickly. We are walking miracles! Why the hell are some women so obsessed with this? Is it pressure from their SOs, or other insecurities? Just can't comprehend.
Because I like looking good naked. Concern/Awareness =/= obsession.

add me to the sleep through the nighters. and I'll even confess (totally flame worthy) that I don't have stretchmarks* and I doubt I'll get them. my skin doesn't even remotely feel tight. :\">

Yep, I spend the whole summer at the beach and want to be back in a bikini. Unfortunately BFing made me chubby last time so we'll see what happens this time.
  • @katykatykaty - don't you want to just rub your face in it? It would feel so good between your teeth. Mmmmm.
  • Also, I REALLY want to change my avatar from one of the default pics, but I'm afraid people won't recognize me as a regular anymore.

Think I'm safe to change it?

Go for it! I just finally changed mine a few weeks ago

  • DH is working all weekend and I've already thought of all the foods I want to eat guilt free while he's at work - starting with Starbucks tomorrow morning and ice cream not long after!! DH never says anything if I do indulge, I just feel self conscious and will enjoy eating what I want when I want

  • DH wants to go to a friends house for games tonight, and I'm totally pulling the pregnancy card, even though I feel fine. Truth is, it's 5 degrees outside and I've already taken my bra off, so yeah-not happening.

I have had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch five days in a row.

Lame I know, but it's all I've got.

I've had that for lunch every work day for 2 months.

I'm in Cancun Mexico and I'm drinking the ice water and eating the washed fruit and vegetables!

Whoa-bad choice!!  I was there 2 yrs ago, only brushed my teeth and had ice cubes in a drink.  One or Two drinks and I still got montezuma's revenge, had to go on antibiotics when I came home after spending bad times in the bathroom for over a week and being completely dehydrated.  I can't imagine if I were pg at the time.  Just FYI!

If she's doing at a resort, she's probably fine.  Most resorts have whole resort filtration/treatment systems, so as long as you're only eating resort food, you're fine.  I stayed in Cancun during my last pregnancy and didn't have a problem.

However, I would only have bottled drinks (no ice) outside of the resort.

I was at a resort, where my parents own a time share, on my honeymoon. Didn't matter, still shit my brains out.

  • I have a couple...

    1) We have 2 dogs. Normally, I take them out in the morning and H takes them out at night. Lately, H has been taking them out all day and I don't feel bad. It's good practice for when the baby comes :) but seriously, my dogs like to pull and until there's no more threat of ice, I don't want to take them out.

    2) My aunt, whom I love dearly, bought us the dresser that matches LOs nursery furniture and had it shipped to our house. Now I could've swore I put a pic up of the nursery weeks ago which showed we already had the dresser. And how she knew which one to get since it wasn't on our registry... I don't know. So I politely thanked her, but we returned it yesterday in-store for a gift card. Thanks for the "dresser" (aka travel system), auntie.

I don't always wash new clothes before wearing them. Including DD's. And nothing bad has ever come of it.

I usually only wash new underware before wearing it. DH sometimes has me wash a new article of clothing for him if it's itchy.
I never wash anything first, and I've never had new skin issues, including undies sheets and towels. Oops the thought never occurred to me. I will wash LOs NB stuff and oddly I wash new guest linens before they use. I may not pre wash LOs stuff as he gets older if there's no sensitive skin?
Hahaha, I'm the exact opposite. I wash EVERYTHING before using. I bought a new shower curtain yesterday, and yeah, I washed it. I don't know, I just think of the clothes or whatever hanging in the store and people touching them and trying them on before i put them on my body... I kind of have issues with germs though.

  • We have HEAPS of bills to pay this month and I went yesterday and got my legs waxed and a pedicure. It cost $75 which totally could've gone towards a bill.
I told DH and he was like "that's ok it's important u feel good and love yourself".
Thank god I have a nice husband!!!

Ok, I'll say it. I think this is totally irresponsible.
I agree. Screw mani pedi's and waxings, bills first, fun later.
    How funny!
My middle name is pretty much responsible. This is why DH and I have no car loans and pay extra off
    Our mortgage every fortnight.
It's also why we have over $25k in our redraw.
I've NEVER paid for a leg wax of a pedi in all my 35 years and I'm pretty sure I actually deserve one!
I'm on paid maternity leave and DH works full time.
All it means is that instead of paying all the bills straight out of our everyday savings this month, that ill use the credit card, and pay it off next month. I would have had to so that anyway.

This is my third child and although my children most definitely come first, I refuse to be the mother that goes without everything and works her ass off.
No way that's healthy for a child to have a mother like that (I was like that with my first).
