We have 2 ferrets. Rooster and Dr. Froyd. Both female. One is named after my husbands former roommate.
ETA: Rooster is the mean one, which seems fitting
Aww I love ferrets! My sister and I had two growing up. Mine was named Pepe La Pew ... cause of the smell. My sister's was Fluffy. Pretty original
My cat's name is Rupp. We're big Kentucky basketball fans over here.
ETA: My first cat was named River, after River Tam from 'Firefly.' She's a giant asshole and hated everyone but my parents, though, so she lives with them now.
One of our pet cockatiels is named "Captain Puff". Hubby came up with that one - does he still get to contribute to naming our child? But actually, the name fits the bird's personality quite well. It's cute.
I also have a guinea pig named "GPiggle" - original, I know, yet weird at the same time..
Married since 8.2.08 DS born 8.11.14 BFP #2: 9.14.16, EDD: 5.24.17
Our cats are to fancy names, but our dog is Kratos - as in the main character in the God of War video game series. When people who know the game meet him they flip out they're so thrilled lol. His kennel name is Kratos Ghost Of Sparta.
My girl cat's name is Noni, which is after an Asian fruit. I always wanted a little gray kitten to name Kiwi, but Noni is a calico, so I had to come up with some other fruit inspired name. I actually googled a list of exotic fruit until I found a good one.
We have an all black GSD that we named Sirius cause I'm a Harry Potter nerd (well, that's his call name... his akc name is this long drawn out thing that I always have to look up lol) Our other dog is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Sadie
When I was in high school I got a Siamese cat and I named her Coconut. It's the only name that suited her. She passed away this last July because of kidney failure. Sure do miss my Coco.

I had two male, all white cats growing up. One cat had blue eyes and was named Ice. The other cat had brown eyes and was named Coconut. I've never heard of another cat named Coconut before

My shitz-tu/dashound is Blackjack...if we were to ever get another dog we would have named her Lettie as in Roulette...those were our two favorite table games.
We have two female boston terriers named Charlie and Murphy.
"Cocaine is a helluva drug!"
We had Murphy first, and I swear to all that is holy that we didn't realize the connotation until Charlie had already been named for a day.
I had a horse named Swinger and a dog named Spanky growing up. Both came with those names from previous owners, my family isn't that creepy, I promise.
My brother has a dog named Amos, who currently lives at my parents house because his landlord doesn't allow dogs. My mom decided she didn't like Amos for a female dog and calls/writes her name F'amos instead, pronounced Famous. The apostrophe cracks me up, like she has a super ghetto name.
My cat is Krishna, yes named after the Hindu god and just as much of a troublemaker as his namesake. We had a Russian blue named Levin, named for the character in Anna Karenina, but he died very young of FIP
Our chihuahua (who showed up as a stray... emaciated on our doorstep weighing in at 3.5 pounds) is named Twiggy. She's over 6 pounds now though.
The kitty we just lost was named Snuggles. My husband named her because as a kitten she looked like the Snuggles fabric softener bear.
The black cat that we have is like the devil, so we named him Cooper after Alice Cooper (though I still like to call him Nero sometimes, which I think was an even more appropriate name but wasn't my husband's favorite).
The last animal's name isn't unique; we just stuck with his rescue name of "Kalvin." He has a unique story though, because we were in Houston, TX for a wedding and found him at an adoption event in the city. They flew him all the way to Pittsburgh, PA for us... pretty crazy!
I had a bunny named PigPen in college. DH's kitty that passed away two years ago was Binx. The kitten we now have is named Salem. (He has a thing for talking black cats.) I didn't name Piggy myself and all my girls' names are traditional people names. The only thing remarkable about them is they're all Greek origins: Callie (beautiful), Chloe (vibrant), and Zoe (life). Ooh, growing up, though, we had a girl dog named George. The shop they found her at thought she was a boy until she had puppies but she'd already learned to answer to George so they kept it

When I was 3 my parents let me name our puppy after my invisible friend Janana. That's the most unique. We have mini schnauzer litter mates named Lois Lane and Clark Kent (we are big comic book nerds). My friends have a dog named Mrs. Salad. That's my all time fave unique name.

I had a calico cat growing up named Blackeye. My cousin named her then my family ended up taking her because my aunt didn't want a bunch of cats around, we never changed it. After DH and I got married we had found a bunny in our garage. It had been someone's pet but no one claimed him. He was all black and I named him T-Pain because that was when T-Pain was collaborating in almost every song on the radio. I also had a hamster named Milkshake, she had a big butt.. Lol!
My friends (3 girls in the family) always wanted a horse. Their mom said any horse they have will be a figment of their imagination. When the father was stationed in the Midwest they bought a farm. The first horse the bought the girls named Figment.
My parents have a 55 lbs boxador named Bitsy. I worked at a pet store when she came in with her litter mates and she was the runt. She only weighed 3 lbs when the rest were 7-11lbs. I carried her in the pocket of my apron and called her itsy bitsy. The name stuck.
My rescue dog came with the name Wendell that we couldn't even attempt to change. My horses are registered quarter horses that I named "Lee Image Lady" (Tora) and "Majors Nu Caballero" (Harlow).
Our Shih - tzu is named Cuervo, like the tequila. DH got him in college and I met him a few months later. I named our other dog, Maddi. Her nickname is Bonsin (or Maddi-bons) and I don't even know how I got it. She answers to that more than her actual name.
