Initials - MF

My mom just called & told me we shouldn't name our baby girl anything that starts with M b/c her initials would be MF --- 3 of the 5 names we like start with M. Your thoughts?

    I really don't think it would be that big of a deal. She'll also have a middle initial. MOF, MCF, MAF, etc. None of which are offensive. And I would punch anyone in the head who said, "oh, haha your kid's a mutha fucka! get it?!"

    When I saw the title of this thread, I realized you meant mother f*cker. But I probably wouldn't have noticed or cared otherwise. I think MF is ok.

    My initials were MF until I got married. No one ever picked up on it. I remember realizing it in middle school and thought it was funny, but that's about it.

    Ooo I should add that I don't have a middle name, so MF were my only initials.

    lol- I don't think you're overthinking it. That's where my mind went immediately. I teach high school and my students would definitely pick up on this- but they would laugh about it in a nice way I'm sure. I would still go with it. No biggie!

    When I first saw MF I thought Male Factor as in male factor infertility.  But yeah, doesn't matter...

    I instantly thought of mother fucker. I'm on the fence between saying it's no big deal and it's something to consider. I use MF sometimes when saying the full term would be inappropriate. I think people will think of it, but I canthink of worse initials.

    If you had your heart set on Millie, for example, and no other name compared, I'd say use it and don't worry about initials.
