Are You TTC #1???

I'm feeling a bit depressed about the fact that I am 43 and have not been able to have any children yet.  I find that there is comfort in numbers on these boards.  So, give a shout out if you are TTC your first child.

Me too - just started basic screening and am having this natural cycle monitored.  Have been actively trying for 4 cycles, am 36 and not yet sure what, if any, issues are involved.

Yes - I am 36 - turning 37 in the fall and we are TTC #1.  I naively thought since my mom and sister both got pregnant right away (my mom said it took her 3 mos with me at age 34, my sister got pregnant the 1st or 2nd month trying with both kids - she was 33 and 35) that I would have no problem. 

We are unexplained - other than age of course.  Good luck to everyone here!

Yes...turning 40 in a couple of months.  Have my first visit with an RE end of Feb. Had a miscarriage last year and have just not been able to get another positive.  Everyone kept telling me it would happen right away..haven't been so lucky.

It never happened for us starting TTC #1 at 38/39, but among my friends, we were the exception, not the successful couples ages 35-43. Don't give up!

I agree with this. I was also the exception. Most people eventually find success.

I'm 37 and ttc #1 for over 2 years. I had IUI #1 a few minutes ago, but I'm not super hopeful and I'm paying oop. I fear financial ruin. Infertility is so hard. I can see myself giving up if it doesn't happen this year. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I could be happier without a child. You are not alone. I wish infertility was easier to talk about, so we didn't feel so alone sometimes.

Will be 46 this May trying for #1. Yikes I'm old!!

Can't blame my age. Was going to RE when married before..got divorced and got married again later in life. Sometimes I wonder if I gave my OE a chance 3 yrs ago would I be pg instead of going DE route with all the waiting and setbacks. Guess I will never know!! Then again $ played an issue

37 here, 38 in 2 days and TTC #1. I found Mr. Right and married him last year! You're in good company

I'm 38.  Been trying since I got married at age 35. Eventhough it's been ver 3 years, I still believe it will happen!

Yes, I'm 35 (will be 36 in March) and TTC #1. We just got married December 7th and started trying right away. Just started cycle #3.

Yes, I am 36 and DH will be 45 tomorrow. Where I live it is very common to have kids young so we are definitely the weirdos around here.

Yeap!  You are not alone.  Add me on the list I am 40 and trying for my first.  Sometimes,  I am sitting here and thinking I should have started earlier, we waited five years to get marry......but you know what, what happened, happened.  I met someone later in life and just try to be positive and use whatever venue avaiable to get there.  Don't give up, ladies.

haha Lady, that sounds like me, too!  My mom got conceived me when she had a IUD! 

DH and I weren't in a rush, so I didn't start TTC until 34... thinking no problem, I'll be KU by 36. Right. Turning 37 this year. We may be OAD when it happens!

Love this thread - thank you. I too appreciate the comfort in numbers... since I currently work with several grandmas who started so early, that I'm as close/closer in age to them (the grandma), than their daughter (mom). Ugh :-S

Exactly, jchow. Gotta fight that regretful/guilty thinking.... it's so hard, but it sure doesn't lead anywhere productive.

DH and I are both 36 - TTC #1 for just a few months now.  I wouldn't change anything about our timing - we weren't ready until now - I am just hopeful that all will go smoothly for us, and finger crossed for everyone else on the board, as well.  Definitely comfort in numbers!

I just turned 41, Dh 46 we met at 34&39, we got married at 35&40. Started TTC when I was 38, it will be 3 years in July of TTC #1, had a bfp for a hot minute the first few months but nothing since. We tried 3 IUI, some TI with triggers, and don't have the $ for IVF nor coverage so we are going natural, diagnosed with pcos in Nov 12.

Me too. 37 trying for 7 months this round. Tried for over 3 years from 29-33 w/ exH. It is nice to know we're not alone.

Yes, we're trying for our first. I'll be 37 on Friday. I'm not sure I feel 37 yet.

41yo, he is 48, we lost one at 17 weeks, and trying again since July.... I have a lot of AMAs I my family, didnt think it would be hard at all.... shoulda started 20 years ago- but here we are! Wish/ hope/ pray we all get blessed with BFPs (smile/ hugs)

I am as well, just turned 39, and trying for exactly a year. It is really helpful to see this many hands raised!
