Water ring slings

Yea or nay?

I love the idea of babywearing, live in FL right off the Gulf, and like to cool off from the summer heat at both the beach and family pool. I noticed that there are lighter and quick drying ring slings just for water. Anyone use them? How safe are they? I'm considering using one until my LO is older enough to start swimming lessons. TIA

Wrapsody makes a water one that has lots of good reviews. (I like their woven, as it is super thin and good for summer) I'm not a water person myself sorry I don't have personal experience.
If you can't find your answer here try the attachment parenting board. Lots of great baby wearing info.

I have a water sling, but it is not a ring sling.  I'm not a huge fan, it just doesn't seem as secure to me as I like carriers to be.  I have thought about sewing it smaller or making it adjustable to see if that would help, but as it is I didn't use it very much.

I have a water ring sling, it's awesome. I used it a lot to shower with ds when he was a baby. Also used it for swimming. Jan @ sleepingbaby.net made mine. It's made out of mesh

We do swim lessons. You would have no use for it there. That's all I got.

How soon did you start swimming lessons?

Our YMCA and the summer ones at a local pool through the Red Cross both start at 6 months. You wouldn't bend the sling for then though. You are moving baby around too much.
