  • Stretch marks do fade, I had stretch marks from before I got pregnant from gaining weight and then losing it. And I am able to wear a bikini and dresses. Believe once this baby comes those are going to be the least of your worries. And I'm 36 weeks now and my stretch marks had hit in full force! I'm not worried. :)
  • They do fade over time.

  • I have some pretty harsh stretch marks right on the front of my belly(starting to move to my side and hips too) but I found this cocoa butter formula by Palmer's brand that is a massage lotion specifically for stretch marks. It really helps keep the skin moisturized and actually lightens my marks when I use it regularly. If memory serves me right I found it at Meijer in the skin care section.

Hope this helps! FYI I'm 26 years old and 30 weeks along with my first little one, I understand your concern about having the marks after baby arrives :-)
  • I will never understand why women act so shocked if another woman is concerned or feeling self conscious about stretch marks and/or her body. Yes, of course, we all are excited about having babies, and it's a wonderful time in our lives, but we don't stop being people and just become mom zombies. We all still like to look good, feel sexy, and not walk around with dark purple lines all over.

I understand how you feel OP and like @ kress1sm suggested, I've found cocoa butter to be very effective, also I love coconut oil and it's helped fade the stretch marks that I got with my first two. And I'm sorry that you're getting these!

  • Thanks for the comments, im very happy and excited to be having a little girl but i want to be able to take my little girl into a swimming pool without feeling disgusting, or being on holiday or just having a nice dress with out having these horrible marks on show, some people are just narrow minded. Im just looking further ahead to see if anyone had any tips to help them or stop them getting worse, i was expecting a few pointless comments. Thanks though to all the advise :):):)
  • I don't personally have a stretch mark success story, as I'm expecting my first child. However, I've heard good things about Vitamin E (which is often in cocoa butter). And I CAN say from personal experience that Vitamin E ointment works well for scarring, which I imagine is pretty similar. I had a nasty scar on my knee from a surgery that has faded significantly after using that stuff for a while. It's still visible, but it's a faint pinkish shade rather than dark purple.
