Today's my birthday and in lieu of going out (I'm still feeling pretty crappy from this stupid kidney stone/infection/whatever) H has offered to stop at the grocery store and buy/cook anything I request... but I'm stumped!  Give me some ideas ladies... what should I have for dinner?

I'm meeting a friend for dinner at On the Border tonight so I'll be having Mexican. So my suggestion is fajitas! Such a quick and easy meal to make and throw some rice on the side... so simple! Actually I made this last night...guess I'm on a Mexican kick this week.

Happy birthday!  My dinner tonight is in no way a birthday dinner, we're having grilled cheese and soup since it's cold and there's a foot of snow outside.

I was inspired by the tuna post and have been craving a tuna melt with jalapenos something fierce.  I requested DH make them, we'll see if he delivers.

Such yummy ideas above!  If my DH were making that offer I'd probably have him make Shrimp Pad Thai, or maybe some glazed pork chops with roasted vegetables.  And CAKE.  He should definitely make you cake.

Steaks and grilled veggies it is... and he brought home CHEESECAKE for dessert.

I would need to send my DH out for take out because he can't cook much more than boxed Mac and cheese.

I was going to do homemade pizza tonight but this discussion has me wanting to go out. @joules235 fettuccine alfredo sounds so good, I never ate it before pg but so far I've had it a few times.

I'm making fettucine alfredo with grilled chicken. I make my own homed alfredo sauce. Hate the canned crap. I also got some of the Red Lobster garlic and cheese biscuits to go with it.

I have zucchini/squash pie in the oven right now. It's like quiche & made with a crescent roll crust. My husband will be so excited that I made it..it's one of his faves

I can never eat a smoothie with my dinner because it is too filling. In fact, I can't even drink one past 3 or I am done for the night, LOL.

During courtship, my husband offered to make me dinner. I was so disappointed to see mac n cheese with hot dogs, something that makes me gag. Other people love it, LOL.

I have the world's easiest crock pot dinner pulled from the freezer but looks-wise, it didn't hold up after being frozen and now looks like cat food. So, I am thinking I will ask my husband to take me for wings. LOL.

But it is CAKE DAY at work which is glorious; basically they bring in two cakes per floor once a month to celebrate everyone's birthday that month (and mine was earlier this month). So I'm eating cake right now.

I made lightly breaded pork chops with chicken gravy, served with rice and corn.  Definitely not the most healthy meal (holy carbs!) But on a cold day like today, it was a nice "comfort" food.  And DD and DS ate it, which is a win for me!
