I'm just so proud of the work DH did in the nursery! He's busted his butt for the past two weeks, all by himself, and with minimal direction to install this star ceiling. It warms my heart to see how excited he is for Junior.
That is gorgeous! I think I will be looking into star ceilings.....
February Siggy Challenge - Picture of You and DH. Us with our engagement pumpkins. DH carved each word of "Will You Marry Me" and the date 10/11/12 into five dfferent pumpkins.
Thanks ladies! Nope, not an electrician by any stretch of the imagination. He's a mechanical engineering major so he likes tinkering with things but this is by far the most complicated thing he's ever done. Removed all of the attic insulation, made a grid on the ceiling, drilled 600 holes and threaded the cables through each one. He was so committed and I'm so proud of him.
@njbabymama it's a kit that comes with two bundles of fiber optic cables and a light source. He removed the attic insulation, drilled 600 holes into the ceiling, threaded the cable through, glued them into place, painted the ceiling and then snipped the cables so they're flush with the ceiling. The light source is mounted in the closet and the strands come out of the ceiling and hook into it.
Wow! I'm planning a star ceiling too (wanted once since I was a kid), but I'm going low-tech and just painting it blue with gold and white stars. Now I'm really inspired! DH knows electronics so maybe I can put him to work.
