Babies on the Brain

Vent

I interviewed for a new job in December, and I was called back for a second interview with a peer panel. I heard from a friend on the inside that everyone liked me and the hiring manager wanted to hire me! Yay!

That was three weeks ago, and I never got a call. I've called the manager to thank her and check in, but have never heard back. My friend has kept me informed as much as possible, and it sounds like she still wants me but more pressing matters have come up.

Trying not to lose all hope, but I'm getting pretty discouraged. I don't NEED this job, but I'm ready for a change of scenery. Sigh...

On the bright side, we start TTC in May! I guess that's something.

Re: Vent

  • I feel your pain! I am so, so tired of my job - the commute, the hours, etc. I am interviewing soon for a new job that starts in June (I have alot of "connections" for this job so it sounds very promising), but the wait is killing me! We are going to start trying to TTC in late April/May also.

    Good luck to you!

  • It took H 8 months to get a job. He went through hoops. Hang in there!

  • Thanks ladies, I think the hardest part was being told that I was getting a job and then never getting the offer.
  • Ahh that sucks, my DH was job hunting right before our wedding this summer. Just weeks before the wedding he got an offer to start an apprenticeship job the week we returned from our honeymoon. He was sooooo excited! Then the day we got home from our trip there was a message on our home voicemail saying the guy they were replacing changed his mind last minute and so they would not be needing DH. He was so lots and upset :( Lucky for him a better offer came just a week later. He has been there since and loves every day of it.
  • Keep your head up! I'm currently on the job hunt, so I feel your pain. I wish I could just get an interview!! I have to just keep telling myself that I'm lucky. I have a job. At least I'm not unemployed and looking.

I would keep checking in every week or so, just so they know you are still really interested. I know certainly in our company hiring ends up on the back burner no matter how badly we need somebody.
