Cloth Diapering

Yeast rash

@TJ1979 you mentioned using monistat for yeast?

It's been about 2 weeks and the rash is still lingering... The lotrimin is almost out so we need to buy more of something.

Also, do we need to talk to the doctor again? Is more than 2 weeks too long? I can't remember what the doctor said regarding how long. Other than 5 days past when the rash goes away....

Re: Yeast rash

  • Is it showing any signs of healing? If you are using cloth are you treating the diapers each time. My baby is a yeast magnet. I love cjs plus to prevent another one.

  • Yes and yes. We are using prefolds so that I can bleach them... I just located my grapefruit seed extract to use instead..

I should pick up some CJs plus!

  • I got rid of the yeast part of the rash when we had to in for thrush. She still had a nasty spot on her bum. Dr recommended triple butt paste or boudreaux butt paste since it had a higher zinc content to heal the skin. I don't remember which over the counter antifungal I used. Maybe alternate butt creams? 2 weeks just seems like a really long time to Linger.

  • Yeah, I think monistat and lotrimin are different active ingredients. So if one didn't work, the other might. Yeast is a beast. If you can, add tea tree oil to the gfse.
Poor LO. I hope it clears up soon.
