looking for the car mirror that you can see baby

If baby is in the car seat backwards, the mirror that attaches to the backseat headrest so you can see them in you rearview mirror.

HOWEVER, I've seen a ton , but my back headrest does not lift up & it attached to the seat so I can't slip anything under it. Anyone else with similar car design that found something? I have a Nissan altima.

I had a headrest like that on the car I drove with my ds. I had the green/ monkey mirror. I just turned it sideways so the straps went around the sides instead of up and down. I did have to stuff a burp cloth/cloth diaper on the back side because even when the straps were at their tightest, it was still loose on the headrest. I made sure it was on there really tight so there was no chance of it slipping off.

  • Target! They have several different ones to chose from maybe one will be compatible with your car.
  • BRU had a simple gray/black one you could turn either way. May not be cute but would work.
  • I would really recommend against getting one. In the event of an accident, they are a projectile and can hurt the baby.

  • Thanks all... will check them out...

Now worried too about the possibility of it being harmful god forbid an accident. I hate not being able to see my little one when driving but don't want to put her in danger too!!

  • They can also be an issue because when the baby's car seat flips upward in an accident (called cocooning), the baby will hit the mirror instead of the seat and it can cause lacerations.  Watching your child while driving is a big distraction too, my DH is a car seat tech and they are trained to tell parents not to install anything but the car seat itself for maximum safety (no seat covers, toys, mirrors, etc) and to have someone ride in the backseat with the baby instead of using a mirror.  I know that's not always possible, but better safe than sorry IMO.
