LO throwing up

LO hasn't been feeling well since Saturday. She woke up at 4 am this morning throwing up. She spent the rest of the night in our bed. Does anyone have tips? I have a feeling today will include more puking. I grabbed something to catch it if she does again. She keeps acting like she will but it sounds like she is trying not to. I hate seeing her so miserable. Should I only give her water today? Any tips are appreciated! Sorry this is scattered, it was a long night.

Re: LO throwing up

  • pedialite or gatorade to keep her hydrated. With my oldest we have an old stock pot and we put walmart bags in it. Easy peasy cleanup! Its a little harder with these young ones b/c they are not as good at giving us a warning before it happens.

Make sure she is having wet diapers and not getting dehydrated.

crackers or dry cereal to eat.

Keep an eye on her when she sleeps in case she throws up while sleeping.

    Good Luck!

  • Hope she feels better soon. I also second pedialyte and Gatorade to keep her hydrated and then stick to clear liquids and chicken broth as well when she is feeling a little better you could probably give her some pediadure so that she is getting some calories and nutrients as well.

  • Ashley threw up the night before last, but hasn't since. Now she still isn't eating a lot since that night. I am just offering B.R.A.T. Foods and liquids. So far so good.
Also all my sisters kids were throwing up the other night too. It only last during the night then stopped so I am not sure what the heck is going on.

Small amounts of clear liquids (not just plain water) frequently. Like 1/2-1 oz every 15 minutes, if she tolerates that, double it for the next hour, if she vomits, let the stomach rest for an hour then start back w/ 1/2-1 oz. Popsicles are great, they are clear, and are usually 1.5 oz and kids eat them slowly, so it's easier to digest. If she's refusing fluids, try giving them w/ a medicine syringe. Good luck.
We need to find a way to make this easy to find, so we can all reference it when our kids our throwing up.
