My title should really be: trust your mommy instincts! :)
All week DD has been a giant crank pot!! Super fussy, up a million times at night, drooling like crazy, and eating her fist. I thought she was teething. But everyone told me it's much too early. (She was 4 mos last Saturday.) even her doctor on weds told us she couldn't feel anything and it would be a while. Well, DD was trying to chew on my finger during church yesterday and sure enough, I could feel something. I looked and she has the start of a tiny tooth just breaking the surface. I put some orajel on it when we got home and she calmed right down and fell asleep. I gave her a little infant Tylenol before bed, and she slept like a log!!! The poor thing has probably been in pain all week.... And I listened to everyone else. Other than drooling & dusting, she had no other signs.

Trust your instincts, mommies!!! :) you know your LO better than anyone!

  • im not ready for teeth!  Pedi said around 4 months he would be teething but not to expect teeth until around 6 months.  But he chews on anything he can get his hands on so I'm expecting some soon.

  • I've been feeling the same way! Dd has been a crank pot too. If she's awake, she's whining and grunty pretty much. She wants to be in a good mood it seems like, but just seems something is bothering her. And the amount of drool is ridiculous. Not only is she chewing her fists and stuff, but sometimes she'll shake her head backand forth really fast against her fist, or my shoulder, or whatever she's chewing, like a dog might do. But it does seem early and i dont feel or see evidence of teeth yet. I just really really think shes teething though! Of course i always second guess things though. I hope it's over soon.

  • DD started teething just before Christmas. She was just shy of 3 months at that point and then cut her first tooth Jan 4th, just gone 3 months, and the second tooth right behind it. Her gummy smile is gone but she has two very cute, albeit sharp and scary (BFing) teeth.

This! I'm not ready for her to lose her gummy smile :(

  • I know!!!! It makes me a little sad!!! But then when I went to pick her up from her crib, she not only flashed me her adorable gummy smile (the tooth is still too small to see unless I stick my hands in her mouth!) and lifted her arms up for me to pick her up!!! It warned my heart :)
  • Did any of you experience your babies waking up screaming? DD started this last night & it's continued tonight. She will be asleep then just wake up crying really hard. Not sure if this is teething sign or not & this new cry is heartbreaking. Tends to happen in the evenings.

  • My LO has been teething for 3 weeks already. She started drooling like crazy right at 3 months 1 week. I thought it was impossible and I'm totally not ready for big changes. But she absolutely LOVES any of her chewy toys and even chewed on a wash cloth throughout her last bath.

My LO only does this when she has gas. It's happened a handful of times and its absolutely heartbreaking. But as soon as I pick her up she either burps or farts. And it's usually a small burp, not equal to her level of crying.
