Need some personal experiences on membrane sweeps

I am 39w3d and am going in to see my OB today. Last week she mentioned doing a membrane sweep and/or induction. Well that initiated a google search. Everything has said that its really uncomfortable to downright excruciatingly painful. Some say the sweep did nothing and others say it started labor right away. I havent been nervous about the labor, but now I am nervous for the sweep?!?!? Was wondering if anyone has had one and their experience. Thanks!

I had two done as well and they did nothing. I was barely dilated and you have to be open some for the OB to even do it. I ended up being induced, but it went perfectly and was a good experience.

My BFF had two done as well and went into labour a few hours after the last one. It really depends on whether your body is ready or not!

Worked for me. I went into labor two days after mine. I didn't even feel the sweep.

It was uncomfortable for me but it did nothing. I was induced for both kids.

I had mine done this last time. It definetely wasn't comfortable, but not painful. I did have some light bleeding.  . . . . but it was worth it for me. I starting have timeable contractions within two hours of having it done.

You know I went to l&d basically for peeing my pants a little so I had a crnp I didn't know. At that point I was 41w. I'm pretty sure she swept my membranes but didn't say so. That was one deep painful internal if not, but labor started the next morning and my water broke the next night. We also had sex the night before. I will request it if I go over again.
