Mattress for 2.5 year old

Hi everyone,
My 2 1/2 year old is still using the original Colgate mattress we got her as a newborn.  She is in her crib still, converted into a toddler bed and we plan to use it as long as possible (meaning no plans to buy a new bed for quite a while).  It seems though now that she's older/heavier, and through all that hopping/jumping, the mattress kind of is like a banana.  We have the foam Classica I mattress.  We were thinking of getting a new mattress.  What works best for toddlers that hop around?  Should I go for an innerspring this time - perhaps for more stability?  Do those squeak/make too much noise?  Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • DD got our old memory foam mattress.  She loves jumping on it, despite the lack of spring, and she hasn't done a thing to hurt it and I'm not entirely sure she can! :)  Also, no noise! :)

  • We bought DD a tempurpedic mattress and she loves to jump on it. It is pretty thick so doesn't really look like she has done any damage to it. There is no springs to break in it as well.

  • Thanks Tiffany and Beckalecka - wouldn't have thought of a memory foam/tempurpedic.  Does the Tempurpedic come in toddler/crib mattress size?  We aren't getting a new bed for her for a while (probably not for a couple more years) and are using the converted crib.

My other concern is springs probably are noisy anyway.  And good point about the break in issue.

    Thanks!!
