So heartbroken for a former Bumpie.

Does anyone remember Pixy? I think her old bump name was pixy0stix. She was active on BOTB and CD I believe, and went with the mass exodus to GBCN a few years back.

Her daughter, ZB, was injured (details are unavailable and I have not asked out of respect for privacy). She passed away today. She was just 3 years old and an adorable little girl. Pixy and her husband chose to allow ZB to be a donor.

Limited details are available at the link below, which also happens to be a link to a fundraising site an GBCNer has set up for Pixy and her family. I do know that ZB had to be flown to another hospital for treatment, and that she underwent surgery and many tests. I apologize for the solicitation, but if you are willing and able, please consider helping Pixy and her family during this unimaginable tragedy. GBCNers (many, many old bumpies) have really pulled together and hopefully will be able to ease some of the burden that this family will face on top of their grief over their very sad loss.

Thanks for listening girls. I am sick over this, and I only knew/know Pixy in passing and by name. We have never interacted but I so wish I could give her a real hug. Hold your babies tight. Sneak in an extra kiss when you check on them tonight.

There are also groups donating blood in ZBs honor and I think a memorial run is in the works. The way her e-friends (and a whole network of people beyond the bump and GBCN) have come together is amazing. It's such a sad situation but the support people are showing is awe-inspiring.

Oh my gosh! I remember her from the CD board. A family member's family member on the other side lost a 4 year old daughter due to a dog attack on Friday.  Im sick to my stomach thinking of these poor families. Absolutely heartbreaking.

I was lurking here, trying to decide if I should be here, when I saw this.  I'm part of Pixy's local board at GBCN and there is an army of care being set up for her though food delivery, gift cards, and care packages.  I'm running out the door right now but if anyone is interested in doing something other than donating money, please page me back over here and I'll get the links set up for the care calendar other locals have set up.  It's been a very hard week for our board, especially those in the northern part of the state who know her best.   I see things like this, in random places, and it blows my mind jut how far this has traveled and how many people her story has touched. 

I'm so glad she has so much support. No parent should have to go through this at all, but those who do should never have to go through it alone.

I can't even imagine going through something like that! I want to go up right now to DD's room and kiss her and hold her (I won't only cause she is sleeping had has to get up early).  I will definitely be giving her extra cuddles tomorrow! I hope Pixy gets some answers.
