Babies: 6 - 9 Months

8 month feeding

So obviously my 8 month old still gets bottles but he is wayyyy more interested in real food than purées. He loves being able to feed himself. But I need meal ideas for him... Preferably something I can make a big batch of on Sunday and he can have throughout the week. (Last week I made waffles for our family breakfast and froze the extras- he had a waffle and fruit for b-fast every morning.) any ideas are welcome. Thanks so much!

My guy is 6 3/4 month and already eats sitting at the table with us.  Tonight he had a baked chicken thigh, rye bread smeared with the sauce then folded over (making like a sandwich), and a banana.  He scarfed it down.  He ate more than my other two tonight.

  • My post above didn't actually answer your question.  Sorry.

I do scrambled eggs with great frequency, oatmeal spread on bread that I fold over and smoosh so it's a holdable sandwich, sausage, ham strips, oat meal bars could be made up for the week.

For dinner if you're serving something with a sauce you can toss extra firm tofu strips with the sauce, fresh mozz slices, fresh cooked veggies like zucchini left holdable (I cut most up but leave two pieces larger for baby then cook all together), meatloaf, etc

It only usually takes my kids 1-2 months to get their pincer and be able to eat just about everything I am serving to every one else for meals.

  • Yes I also feel that a baby should be given to eat what ever the child wants I  was feeding my son with whatever we were eating .Let the child enjoy the food and eat .Just be careful about choking .
