LOs lunch portions

I've been struggling with what I send for LOs lunches since he moved into the Toddler room at DC. He doesn't eat much at all at home but DC always says he eats some/most of what I send. Never all. So I think I send too much.

His favorite is Vans power grains waffles, so ill add half a banana, some berries or carrots and a piece of cheese. or noodles/veggie mix with fruit in the side.

Pic below from what he had today. Maybe he will never eat all of his lunch.

How much do you send. ?

ETA: I think part of the problem is the tupperware lunch containers I send. They are normal size so they look so empty and I keep adding stuff in. Any recs on lunch box or containers?

  • That looks fine to me... Honestly some days emery is hungrier than others. It's a total crap shoot. I would still send that much in case if I were in your shoes. IMO it's better to have more than not enough.

  • That looks fine to me and bis about the portion size I send. My LO rarely eats all of what I send but I am OK with that. I figure it is better to waste a bit than have her go hungry.

This may sound like common sense, but we've figured out that if we cut down on the snacks, he eats more at meal times. What you are sending for DC sounds just fine. If you want him to eat more of what you send, maybe cut down on his snack portions, same with afternoon snacks if you want him to eat at dinner... We've found that the cereal bar, fruit pouch, cheese stick snacks between meals REALLY hinder what he eats at meals, so instead of giving him the three items together for snack, we give him one, and he eats much more at meals vs just feeding it to the dog.

Definitely common sense but I totally let him snack at home. I feel bad bc I eat every 2-3hrs so I assume he has my metabolism. I should try cutting down on snacks and see if he eats more :).

@bellaxanthe ill look for the bento boxes at target :) thx
