UO: The words binky and paci make my skin crawl. MIL calls diapers "pampers" and wipes "wipeys". It makes me want to smack her, not that that's a new feeling or anything.
This. 1000x this. I call it a pacifier. Sometimes we will call it her chill pill. I've also heard people call a bottle a "baba". No. Just no. I just can't stand baby talk. (The baby talk that involves changing a word to make it "cute" or shorter, or using god forsaken bad grammar.)
SS - I use binky and paci interchangeably. Or "monkey" and "giraffe" since those are the two Wubbanubs we're using for the girls at the moment. - From CT
This. Although our wubbanub is a frog so it's "froggy." Also live in CT.
Binky or bink in our house. If I were talking to an adult friend or family I would use those terms. If talking to a stranger then I would probably say pacifier.
My family has always called it a foo-foo which is also my Papa's nickname for me.. I really loved the pacifier. DS, on the other hand, does not at all.
To a stranger, I'd say pacifier. With my husband, I'll either say pacifier or binky, and to my baby I almost always say binky. Since you asked what I'd call it with another adult I chose pacifier.
We used to call it a plug but when my older daughter started saying it sounded like she was saying fuck. It was really awful for like 6 months. I didn't want that to happen again so I'm calling it bink this time.
Re: What do you call it?
