Sorry Ladies!!

Sorry I haven't been on since wednesday, I have been extremely busy with my A/S appt on thursday, (which went great by the way, our LO is a girl!),and lots of home work, and going to work today.

With that being said, apparently not many of you cared to much for my post the other day regarding Taking a Guess, which is fine, but I do want to say that I only posted it for fun, and to see what your guess maybe by considering the differences. (and of course I am having a baby, and of course it's going to be either a boy or a girl.)

This question had nothing to do with old wives tales, and I understand where many of you are coming from, but some were rude comments, and I will say if you didn't want to play along then it would have been better to not have posted a response at all. 

I am not here to make enemies by all means. I am here to give and recieve support, to have my questions answered through others experiences, and answer questions for others to the best of my ability. in addition to having fun, and being happy about wanting to share my excitement with the world.

So please except my apology for posting a "boring" post, and I hope we can all get past this discussion.

The apology isn't really necessarily. I don't think most people would have remembered this if it had not been pointed out. Unfortunately we get a lot of special snowflake posts and they mostly just get turned into GIF wars. Just own it, learn from it, and move on

TBH, looking at the post https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12229942/take-a-guess/p1 this was one of the more "tame" ones. I didn't even post my velociraptor pic!

My advice is to:
1) lurk more and get a feel for the board. This board is kind of sassy (which I personally like, but I'm a sassy gal). If you find it's not your cup of tea there's also Baby Center and Baby Gaga to check out.
2) feel free to share on appropriate days i.e. symptoms days, appointment days, check-in days whatever. This is where most people check in and where people will come find you if they want to hear how an appt or whatever went.
3) learn to love GIFs. They're freaking hilarious!

I don't believe the issue was really with your question, albeit it was different, but more or less the fact you felt you needed to create your own thread for it, when there was a thread that day for pictures of bumps in which you could have included the pictures and a blurb about anyone having any guesses.  SS posts typically just aren't well received, especially those involving guessing the baby's sex.

I'm not sure why you needed to start an entirely new post for this - you could have updated your previous thread.  

I'm also not sure why you felt the need to apologize.  You did get some funny answers on your first post, but a bunch of ladies played your old wives tale game (this falls into the OWT category - how you carry your baby telling you the sex of your baby is an OWT), so why do you feel the need to chastise people on responding to your thread if they didn't have a more serious answer.

You can't take this post back, but I would just let it go.  No one was worked up over your posts (there are PLENTY that have gotten people worked up, this was not one of those), and if you're really here for the reasons you are here, I would just continue to read, respond, ask, support, etc.

Congrats on the girl.  I wouldn't buy tu-tus, but that's just me

I didn't see your post the other day but just wanted to say I feel your pain and don't understand why people get so bent out of shape on here sometimes. Its almost made me want to leave a couple different times but I guess that's what happens when you put woman together. Congratulations on the baby girl.

You didn't see her post... people didn't get bent out of shape.  I was trying to give her some constructive criticism since she seems to honestly want to be a part of this board.  I don't know why you felt the need to complain about your own feelings.  It has been said many times on this and every other internet message board that every board has its own personality.  It isn't for everyone.  If it doesn't work out, too bad, but there are plenty of others out there that might be a better fit.  If you don't find this to be a supportive, fun place, then perhaps it isn't for you.  No harm, no foul.

True... they tend to be the ones who are regulars that people know.  It's easy to respond positively and with support to someone you "know."  It's hard to do that with genuine feeling to someone who has barely been around.  Stick around and participate and you'll be just fine.

I know you. You are the very pretty blonde with the adorable bump pictures. I think you have said you have an older son and this is your second. To me, your a regular. Welcome to SS it up once and a while. I think you have been here long enough to know where to post stuff. I think all they are asking is that OP does the same. I recognize OP too and I think that if she realized snark is a form of support especially on this board she wouldn't be so bent out of shape. I try to live by, you ask a stupid question you get a stupid answer. We are here for support, but also for fun. So OP my advice would be don't get butt hurt and keep participating. Now a random gif for good measure.

I know sometimes I'm nervous to post too bc I haven't spent more than a minute searching to see if my topic has already been addressed! So I get that anxiety!! Luckily, most girls are really nice about redirecting to the correct thread. Ignore the ones that aren't!! Not worth it! And congratulations!!!
