Sad Encounter

I just found out that an ex boyfriend of mine's older brother killed himself and his entire family last night. I'd met both the brother and his wife. It's just so sad. I can kinda get why someone would kill their spouse but how does someone kill their children?

wow. what a tragedy, even though I assume you rarely see your ex bf this has to be shocking and saddening; especially if you were ever close with the family. Thinking of you

Yup. I only met him once or twice but knowing his family it's just so strange that this would happen.

This hits really close to home for me. My brother in law committed suicide on Monday. Took all of us by surprise and we are all still in shock. I'm not sure this is something we will ever get over. I know it is Something my sister will never forget as she is the one who found him. I pray for the family and the community.

That is terrible for everyone involved and for the surviving friends and family as well. Even if you weren't close, definitely take some time to process yourself. It is hard to deal with knowing someone who does something like this because we all like to believe that these are things that happen far, far, away and removed from ourselves and our families. 

As to the why....my sister was the victim of a violent crime (she lived, only by a miracle) and I can say from experience that it is normal to want an explanation and it is also normal to not get one. I have wanted from time to time to write to the prison and try to get the person to tell me why he did what he did, but every time I suggest this, my husband reminds me that any answer he gives me isn't going to make sense or may not be true. There was nothing rational about what he did, so there isn't likely to be a rational answer to "why." 

I will be keeping all in my thoughts and prayers!
