My rainbow's birth story

First of all, that you to my labor buddy for keeping you all informed and thank you for everyone's T&Ps.

The short version has already been announced by Tink but Samantha Jane was born at 6:03 PM on 12/27/13. She was 7 lb 10 oz and 20 inches long. We are loving every minute with her and her big brother thinks she is the best.

Long version
I had a csection scheduled for 1/3/14 but apparently my little princess really wanted us to get the extra tax deduction.

On 12/27/13 I was at work and had decided to tell them that I was too uncomfortable to work the last week. I was helping a customer when I coughed and felt a small gush. It happened again a minute later and I was so embarrassed thinking that I peed myself. There was a long line so I called one last customer before heading to the restroom. I felt another gush and this time I hadn't coughed.

I went to the bathroom and the gushes kept coming. I told my manager, called my DH, and called my OBs office. They said normally I could just come to the office to check if it was my waters but the on call dr was already headed to the hospital so I should go there. We went home and packed my bag and went to the hospital. I got there at about 4:00 PM and they told me my section would be at 5. My old OB who no longer delivers was supposed to assist on my planned csection so they stalled a little to see if he could come assist at that time too. I ended up being taken in closer to 540. I got my epidural, they prepped me, and my baby girl arrived at 6:03.

What I didn't tell Tink was that I didn't hear a cry when they took her out. My DH went to take a pic and all I could see was him standing there staring. I have never been so scared. After what seemed like forever, she did start crying. DH told me later that she was blue and they had to give her oxygen. Her initial apgar was a 2!! She is perfect now so thank you again for all of your T&Ps, even though you didn't know I needed them.
