Toddler products recs

Hi mamas!

So I'm thinking one of the reasons DS hates getting out of the bath is because he doesn't like the scratchy towels we have (he's a sensitive little guy). We also like to brush his teeth after bath, and I usually hold him so he stays focused, but it's hard when he's wrapped up in the towel. So I was thinking of getting him a nice soft bath robe, but I've never shopped for one before. Do you all have any recommendations? I looked at the Target near my house but they didn't have anything, so now I'm at a loss. :P

Also bath-related: he keeps slipping in our darn tub! It has kind of a grippy bottom but apparently not grippy enough. So I wanted to stick some non-slip thingies on the bottom, but not really sure what would stick to the sort of grippy bottom it already has, and what would be non-slip enough for my apparently very slippery-footed child. Any ideas?

TIA!

  • We used to put a folded up towel in the bottom of the tub when he was a midget but now that he stands up and showers instead of baths most of the time we got a regular rubber tub mat with suction cups... its kinda of spongy and works great for Mr Dancy Pants lol .. nothing special.. just a Walmart tub mat...

as for towels.. believe it or not  again..Walmart  $5 bath sheets ..as long as you wash and dry them on warm they stay soft n fluffy.. but if you want a robe then look for a soft fleece one.. he got a Thomas the tank one for Christmas the year before last from a relative in the UK and its super soft,  We use it when he gets out of the pool too..it  has a hood and keeps him warm on the walk back from the pool to the apt.

I think I saw some robes at Children's Place the other day .. if you have one of those?

Have you tried showers instead of baths? we find our lil guy actually brushes his teeth better (and I use the term loosely .. since he is hit and miss specially when teething) when he is in the shower.

  • We just have a $7 rubber bathmat from Walmart. Works well.

We're still using hooded towels that we got for a baby shower. They came from diapers.com. I use wool dryer balls and they seem to fluff things nicely in the dryer. No idea about a robe. Children's Place maybe?

Have you tried just waiting until after he is dressed to brush his teeth? Routine here is: bath, book, teeth, bed. I let DD "brush" her own teeth for a little bit before I brush them. That seems to help.

  • Just a plain old rubber tub mat here. I think I got it from Amazon.

As far as a robe, I had one for Alexander and he wanted nothing to do with it. Trying to get that thing on him was such a fight that I just gave up. I love the kids' hooded towels from Children's Place. They're super soft and plenty big.

He loves his vibrating Cars toothbrush. He does a decent job on his own these days but i still go in to finish the job. I don't do teeth until he's in his jammies and pretty much ready to go down. A lot of times I rad him a book while he brushes, which usually works well.
