Another one?!

Someone posted about their DH already wanting another LO, and it got me thinking.. For those with more than one child, or those who want more than one, what is your ideal age difference between them??
I'm not sure I could handle 2 kids in diapers at the same time! So personally, our plan is to wait until DD is potty trained or close to it. So maybe 2-3 years?
I'm curious where you all stand?

We are going to actively try again in Jul/Aug.  Now we are ntnp.  So ideal age difference? 1-2 years.

Ideally I'd like to wait until my LO is close to if not potty trained before having another baby but I know how impatient I can be and I'd probably end up with 2u2 knowing me :-)...however, DH is a lot more patient than me and since it takes two to tango, we'll end up waiting a while.

My siblings and I are seriously close in age- I'm a twin, our brother is only 18 months older, but only one grade ahead of us growing up bc of when his birthday is. I liked it at the time, love it now.

I think we're going to have kids roughly 2 years apart. We're for sure having 2, potentially 3. We'll assess 3 after we see how 2 goes.

My DD and DS are three years apart, almost to the day. So far, this age gap has been awesome. DS is potty trained, a great sleeper, fairly self sufficient and was old enough to really 'get' the whole baby thing, so it has been much MUCH easier than I ever thought two would be. I am glad we waited as long as we did, it has worked out well for our family. Although ask me again when DD is more mobile :-)

Our boys are 29 months apart, so almost 2.5 years, and I think it's a good spacing. DS1 is almost completely potty trained and he is able to "help" with his baby brother. No way could I have handled 2u2 - that seems really hard to me.

We are planning on waiting to TTC until our DD is about 2. I definitely do not want two in diapers!

Seems like I'm the one waiting the longest--5 years.  If DS gets easier we may have one sooner. I also have PCOS so that may put a bump in the road.  I think enjoying my time with just DS is more imporatant than having them close in age.

We wanted ours super-close but had some miscarriages and health issues. They are now about 2 years and 3 months apart and it's a great age difference. DS is not potty-trained but he can play independently, walk on his own and sleeps really well. I think we are done but if we did have another I'd like at least 18 months to 2 years between.

There are three years between each child. I have a 6, 3 and LO. I like the space. My oldest is more helpful and patient with the baby.

My two are almost exactly 2.5 years apart. DS has taken this pretty hard, to be honest, but that just may be his personality. He also was ready to potty train right when we had a newborn in the house which was hard on us. Two in diapers was not a big deal to me. I actually prefer it to dragging a newborn and toddler into public bathrooms constantly because the toddler is just learning.

We want a third and I'm tempted it either do it ASAP or wait until DD will be older than 3. DH wants to do it right away because he thinks I'm getting old. ;-)

I wouldn't look at even trying for a second baby for at least a year and a half...So there will be like 2-3 years between them!! I love my baby to bits and just want to enjoy every moment with her before even thinking of another!

Ours are 30 months apart.  We started trying when DS was 20 months.It is great bc son can use the toilet totally by himself while I'm nursing.

We don't want to start trying until DD is at least a year old. I don't want to wait too long since I'm already 36.

If i hadn't had a cs, we'd probably start ttc this summer or fall. New plan is two years apart. This is better, anyway, bc i can go back to work for a year, build up a bit of savings, then take advantage of fmla before deciding whether to sah again or not.
Not sure yet on adoption timing... either asap after child no.2 for a tiny kiddo or wait a bit for an older one (we have some decisions to make), but i know I'd them to join the family in birth order, probably with similar spacing.

Mine are almost 4 years apart. I always wanted kids closer together, but we had some losses inbetween. Now I love their age gap though. I'm almost sure we're done at 2, but if there was a third I would start trying now... Only because It took us 3 years to get pregnant with each daughter and I'm getting old... If it weren't for that, and unfortunately the risk of loss, I'd probably want to wait either 2-3 years to start trying.

2 years + would be ideal for us. I think we will start ttc at 9 mo though. It took us 3 years to get pg the first time.

We will most likely start trying in August after her first birthday. It took us several years to get pregnant the first time- if it were up to my DH he would start now, but with my sister getting married in May and having a cs I want to wait at least until August. My sisters and I were all 20/21 months apart but 2 years in school which I liked.

There are 10.5 months between my babies. So not only do I have two in diapers but I had two on bottles for a while. That was crazy. It's hectic and I don't sleep, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. You can already tell they love each other so much. (The age gap was NOT planned.)

I think we will start ntnp after one year birthday. Then if it doesn't happen right away I might take a break until spring months where I wouldn't be 9 months in dead heat of summer again.

I would like them to be close in age but I want to try for a vbac and I need to go back to work for a bit to reinstate a full year of mat leave (Canadian) so we will start TTC probably in July.

Our are 18 months apart and I absolutely love having 2u2. Undecided on a third or not.

This is us too. I figure get the madness of newborn/infant days over with all at once. Plus I never had siblings close in age to me and always wish I had. I only hope they will grow up to be friends

Same here. Took us 4 years to get pregnant but I am almost 35 so I don't want to wait too long for the next baby. But ideally I would want them 2 years apart.

We started trying when DD1 was 11 months old. We wanted them two years apart. I had two miscarriages and so they ended up being almost three years apart. I still wish they had been closer together. I had people tell me that three year olds are worse than terrible twos and my daughter is proving them right.

I would like them to be pretty close together in age and do all the baby stuff around the same time so we will probably try this summer. IUD will have to come out May or so then. Much faster than I planned!

I'd like to start trying now, but our plan is to wait until I'm licensed in my field (about another 1.5 years hopefully) and then try since DH will SAH.

I think we will start trying again around LO's 1st birthday, we got pregnant really easily with LO and I got pregnant with DS #1 easily too so I feel like we have to be ready for it as soon as we start trying. LO has been somewhat of a demanding baby so im not really in any rush, but more than anything I want them to be closer in age. My brother and I growing up were 23 months apart and we always had someone to play with..

I had a c/s and will again for any other babies so I want to wait a little while. We are getting married in September, the day after DD's 1st birthday, and we will probably start ntnp after that. We want to have a third but we'll see how 2 go (barring any issues or complications) and go from there.

Ideally I would have the second child when DD is around 2.5 years old. But I think I'd be ok with anytime from 2-3 years. Part of me wants to have the second child in late summer again so I can wear the same maternity clothes, but that's not a good enough reason to plan around. I got pregnant very easily this time so hopefully that will be the case again. I am a big planner so its hard on something like this that's out of my control for the most part. DD is helping me learn to not be such a control freak!

I think we're going to start trying this fall. I'm having a hard time losing all this weight and I don't want to get in great shape just to gain it all back. Besides, that will put them close to a couple years apart and I loved being close in age to my sisters.

Since my pregnancy was absolutely horrible, I'd rather just get it over with. We only want two kids.

DH and I need to talk more about this, but I'm thinking next spring/summer well start trying. DD would be 1.5 years old so they'd be a little over 2 years apart.

Hope to start trying when DD turns 1.  We want two and we are not getting any younger. I really enjoyed my pregnancy and hope the second goes just as well

My doctor recommended waiting at least 18 months because of my c-section. That is fine with me because I want to finish this school year and at least teach one more full one before having another one. So we will probably start trying again at the beginning of the year in 2015 and shoot for having baby end of year in 2015.

I like the idea of going through phases with my kids. So I'd rather have my kids in diapers at the same time. Also, as kids get a little older and are able to do more things I don't want to go back to the newborn stage and not be able to go out and do certain fun things again. If that makes sense. I'd like to have 2u2. We're ntnp at the moment. I took us almost 2 years to get pg the first time, so I don't really anticipate getting PG until I get back to charting and all that.
