2 Pack 'n' plays?

Would it be completely silly to buy 2 different PNPs, one for our ground floor and one for our top floor?  I am hoping to have LO sleep in the PNP at night upstairs for the first few months and I don't think I want to have to carry it up and down the stairs every day.  Or am I just completely crazy?

Thanks!

Re: 2 Pack 'n' plays?

  • I would buy one and see if your LO likes it. Some babies will not sleep in pnp so you might need to have different solution for night time sleeping and use the one pnp downstairs . You can always buy the second one once LO arrives. Or if you have to have it all set up save the receipts so you can return

  • DD wouldn't sleep in it or in the newborn napper feature. We use it solely for travel since she hated it. The mattress it comes with is sort of pathetic and we bought a mattress off amazon for when we travel.

I think one is sufficient especially if you have a swing or bouncy etc

  • I'm not sure why you would need one downstairs?

  • Maybe consider a bassinet or like pp said, make sure your LO likes it (& the model you get is easy to fold since some are better than others)

If you have a crib, maybe keep that on one floor with the pnp on the other? Pnps take up only a little bit more room than the crib.

  • I have 2, but I really didn't like the first one we got. You can only use the"extras" for a few month. I think most PnP bassinets max out at 15lbs.

We got ours for our downstairs as well. Would you ever be using a PnP for a play space to keep LO from pets or confined? If so I'd look into a full size square PnP like the Graco Tot Block or Delta Fun Time, as well as a place for the baby to sleep upstairs. A lot of people like Rock N Plays, bassinets, and cradles as sleeping places when they are small.

  • I'm not sure. I've been thinking about thismyself since we already have a 3yo who plays mostly downstairs and are expecting twins. I don't want to be running up and down all day.

Our daughter hated the regular pack n play sheets and would refuse to sleep in it with them on, but she loves the quilted pack n play sheets we got. I believe we got the Carter's because Gerber was supposed to be line dry only. Newborn. Line dry only. Yeah right.
  • Why do you need one downstairs?  You can change the baby on the floor or another surface and baby can nap in a swing, bouncy chair or just bring the baby upstairs.

  • Thank you everyone!

FmrAFBrataraziza  We have two dogs that are primarily downstairs so I was just worried about changing the LO on the floor with them and having tummy time on the floor.

I definitely will only start with one to make sure they like it.  Thank you for the feedback!

  • I have two.  Both my kids (and this one will too) slept in the PnP in our room for about the first 9 months.  I also wanted one down stairs so that if I needed them contained to go to the bathroom or do something I could just pop them in there.  I was not about to lug it up and down the stairs everyday.  It worked well for us.
