The new Nick at Nite freaks me out. I miss Bewitched, I Love Lucy, I Dream of Genie, Mister Ed, Bob Newhart. I loved watching those shows as a kid. It makes me super depressed that the new old shows are Full House and Friends. Although I love both of those shows... I remember watching them new and feel as though I'm not old enough to be watching those shows on Nick at Nite.
I love my in laws, they watch my child and I love them for it. I am a little rankled(synonym to livid) they won't attempt to do something about the excessive barking of the dogs when DD is napping over there. They are loud, yipping, and wake her up. Then I get complaints that my child won't sleep and is an angry bird. Either don't complain or do something about the dogs. Normally they are awesome though.
I think people are completely overreacting to Candace Cameron Bure using the word "submissive" to describe herself in her marriage.
I get what she is saying. I was raised that way and think that in someways I am also submissive to MH. It doesn't mean I'm weak. It doesn't mean I don't have an opinion, it doesn't mean I'm overlooked.
I think people automatically think of "50 shades of grey" or something when they hear the word submissive and there is much more to it than that. I'm no doormat and I sure as hell am no Ana Steele.
But he doesn't have final say as in "it's what I want, that's it". She said they discuss things, she expresses her opinions, etc. I don't think it's gross.

She says multiple times he has the final say. Final say is "this is what I want to do, period". Its nice that she thinks she can "sway" him sometimes to her opinion, but overall, I don't blame people getting up in arms about that pretty big detail.
I think all drugs should be legalized and
regulated. Those who abuse them should be offered help for their addictions, rather than being treated as criminals (unless they are found guilty of a criminal offense; i.e. DUI, assault, theft, etc).

Meh... I tell MH he has final say most of the time. After we've discussed things to great length and he knows my stance, I don't see a problem with him making the decision because I trust his reasoning. If he were to completely ignore my opinion and makes decisions without me, then I'd have a problem. But that isn't the case.

" I quickly learned that I had to find a way of honoring his take-charge personality and not get frustrated about his desire to have the final decision on just about everything."
This isn't making decisions together. This is being treated as less of a person simply because of gender.
And it may not be the case for you. But you can't project that onto her, where her statements clearly show otherwise.

Just to clarify, when you say all drugs, what specific drugs are you talking about?

I'll agree on marihuana...but you want things like meth & heroin made legal?

She doesn't say he ignores her, she says he takes what she says into consideration, they discuss things, and ultimately even though he may disagree many times he takes her side (in the clip). And I don't think he's the bad guy or is treating her as "less of a person simply because of gender". It's a role they have chosen and it clearly works for them as they've been married for 17 years and are happy (again, according to the clip, I don't know her IRL).
In todays modern world I consider myself very old school at heart. Even with my successes (I have more degrees and earn more than MH) I don't think it hurts to build your man up and have him hold his spot as the head of the household.

How would one regulate crack? What would be an acceptable "dose"?

I LOVED Nick at Nite growing up. I agree that Friends and Full House are too new to be on there. I guess my UO is that I love the Friends and Full House, but they don't belong on NaN.

Yeah, I guess it is a big UO to me. I could never imagine being subservient to my partner, we are equals.
Subservient: prepared to obey others unquestioningly.
This is exactly why I think people are overreacting to the article. The assumption is automatically made that the women who place their men in the role of "head of household" are bending over to their every need/want/say.
I don't believe anywhere in the article, nor in what I have described of my own marriage - the world subservient applies. If I agree to disagree, does that mean I'm being subservient? In my book it doesn't. But I guess I'm reading a different book.
Totally depends on the guy for me... if we're talking celebrities (Channing Tatum, Charlie Hunnam).. yes please! But everyday guys? ... not my thing either.
I think all drugs should be legalized and regulated. Those who abuse them should be offered help for their addictions, rather than being treated as criminals (unless they are found guilty of a criminal offense; i.e. DUI, assault, theft, etc).

Pot is whatever. Things like meth, crack, and heroine destroy lives and are also deadly.
I think when someone is arrested for nonviolent drug related issues, there should be mandatory rehab. There are times when it's even crossed my mind that family members should be able to force someone into rehab, and force them to stay there. Also, I don't think we would have the drug problems that we do if we had better mental healthcare.

I agree we need better mental healthcare, but if someone isn't ready to be rehabbed, forcing them rehab is going to do squat for them.
Mine is that I don't mind multiple threads about the same topics like the sleep suit, solids, nap times etc. I find so many get really annoyed about it. Usually the poster will indicate what the thread is about in the subject line so it is your choice to read or skip it. We all have babies Around the same age right now and not everyone has the same exact question regarding the "repetitive" topic. I think it's fair for anyone to post asking what they want to know. (If its the SAME question, then that is different) We all have questions and concerns and if you're sick of the same topic, don't open and move on.

Is this because that's exactly what you did in your post this morning instead of simply searching through a couple of pages to find nearly the exact same subject as yours?

No, absolutely not. I wasn't able to find anything about transition from suit to nothing for sleep so I asked. And like I said, if it was the SAME question and I missed it, I apologize because that is just annoying.

Just that; all current illicit drugs.
Like you would totally be ok with youLO 14 years from now doing meth and any/all other illicit drugs?
