Brazillian wax while pregnant??? Proceed with caution!!!

Soooo I'm a huge fan of waxing and I've been getting Brazillian waxes since I was 20 years old. (I'm 30 now). For my first and most of my second trimester I was too sick to care what was going on down there but now that I'm 38 weeks i wanted to go get waxed before baby comes. My baby bump is too big for me to take care of things on my own. Anyhow, I went in today knowing it was going to be more painful but WOWZA!!!!! It was awful!! My entire body was sweating and hours later my skin is a little red and sore. Just wanted to share that info in case any of you ladies normally go get that done. I think I'll ice my crotch now. Lol.

I'm honestly surprised she waxed you and didn't tell you about how sensitive you are while pregnant. When I waxed pregnant ladies I had to have them sign a waiver because your skin gets so sensitive and with the extra blood flow you can actually rip off some skin. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. I also waxed everything but the whoo haa so maybe it doesn't apply to that. Feel better!

Well I told her I knew it would hurt. She said as long as I understood that they were fine to do it. I actually saw that I had some bruising. although it was very painful I am happy I went. I feel so much better about myself and Lord knows I am not feeling cute and sexy this late in my pregnancy.

I got one at 6 weeks and it wasn't that bad.  If you had "long hair don't care" down there then that definitely can make the pain worse and make it red/swollen.  I can't see down there either to shave and am sure it looks very patchy lol.

DH and I have an agreement...when I get too big to reach down there, he's going to trim/shave for me :-)

OMG I was thinking about this, too!  I used to get them all the time but stopped because it was just getting way too expensive to go to a reputable place....I'm a hairy beast and need to go more often than most.  I'm glad you posted this, because I wax a ton of other areas on my body, but was thinking of starting the brazilians again once I can't reach down yonder.  Ouch!  Though, when I did used to get brazilians I would sweat the whole time anyway, so maybe I'm just a freak with super sensitive skin down there, though I've never bled from it.

Ouch!!!  I just warned my husband that I can't even see there anymore, so whatever.  He did ask if I needed him to hold a mirror, and I was like, um..no... I'm lucky to even shave my legs right now.  I have to switch hands to reach my left leg and it feels really awkward.  

I'm glad you feel better and more sexy.  I'm trying.  I walked past the lingerie dept at Macy's last week and literally laughed out loud imagining myself in one.    The lady in front of me gave me a strange look, but idc.

I was trying to trim on my own and I'm sure it was super patchy!! Haha. I was kind of embarrassed when I showed the goods to the gal. I just had to confront the elephant in the room and say "I can't see to properly trim!!" Haha.
@futuremrsw9 I'm not sure where you live but you should check if there is a European Wax Center there. They are super affordable. It's best to bite the bullet and buy a package but it's turns out to be like $32 each time.
@brittneyandadam I'm with @bzeetyd !! I could never let my husband groom me down there!! You are definitely brave!!

We do have EWCs all over!  I actually go there for some other things.  Ever since IF started I now have like full on hair on my tummy - it's so gross, like WTF gross.  So I go there for that, and I also wax my arms.  I go to a different place for my eyebrows, but everything else isn't as important.  I might try it now that you mention that....I love the wax they use, it doesn't hurt at all!  At least not on the areas I currently get waxed lol.

Girl, you are BRAVE!! I am a weenie when I go and I'm not pregnant. The last time I went, it hurt so bad, I vowed to never do it again. But, I'll probably get fed up and end up going... I would always take ibuprofin before but since you can't do that while pregnant, I might wait until after!

@futuremrsw9 It's so weird but I also got a little hair on my tummy since being pregnant!! There's so many weird things that happens to the body when we're pregnant. Like, what's the point of tummy fuzz?!! LOL

@mjc1116 If you go when you've haven't gone before or it's been a while it hurts so bad!! If you go regularly it is so much better and doesn't hurt as bad. Trust me. I am half Korean so luckily I don't have much body hair so I can stretch it out to 6 weeks in between waxing but most people who go every 4 weeks will admit its a lot less painful. Definitely take some ibuprofen!

Yes! My gal who I go to told me that, too! I should, but it's been so long, I'm afraid of the pain! I may just do a bikini until I get desperate.

Oh, mine isn't just a little fuzz, it's like full on hair - it's gross!  I hope it goes away after baby comes, otherwise I think I'll be looking into laser removal :-(
