pp pain

Hi. I am four months post part um with my twins and I am having a pain issue. My girls were born at 36 weeks via c section. Anytime I'm on my feet for more than a couple of hours it feels like I got kicked be the legs...HARD. Is this normal... I can barely walk by the end of my 4.5 hr shift at work!!!! Any ideas....tia.
After three miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy we are currently pursuing adoption. " Born not from our flesh, but born in our heart. You were longed for and wanted and loved from the start."

  • I have never had a c section, but I've never heard of that happening. Have you brought it up to a doctor or your OB?

  • No I wasn't sure if it was normal w healing.... ESP after carrying multiples or if something is wrong I'll call.

  • Were you on any kind of bedrest? I remember toward the end of my pregnancy feeling like I had no strength in my thighs, and climbing stairs was pretty painful. It took awhile (don't remember how long) for that pain to go away. I always attributed it to the months of carrying around that much extra weight and then being off my feet for a month, but I guess maybe the C/S had something to do with it too? I dunno....but keep in mind that carrying twins, undergoing surgery, and then caring for two newborns is a lot on your body, so don't be surprised if it takes you awhile to feel "yourself" again. I do hope you feel better soon!

  • I would definately call you doctor. You could have a pelvic floor injury or symphysis pubis dysfunction https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphysis_pubis_dysfunction Sorry you are still hurting so much!
  • That doesn't sound normal.  I was pretty much back to normal after 8 weeks or so.  I still had some residual back pain and other weak muscle issues that took longer to work out, but nothing like what your describing.  Good luck, hopefully the doctor will know what it is.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
