You won't believe what I did tonight..

DD1 recently started wanting to wear footy pj's (don't know why, since she pees non stop it's a hassle in the middle of the night, but I diverge.)  DD2 wanted some and I ordered a pair of dora offline since she loves dora, and we also went to target and got a 2 pack.  She freaked and wouldn't wear them, even though DD1 did. She used to wear them all the time, but I'm sure she doesn't remember.  (3 in Feb).  Anywho, she hated the bottom of the feet (the non-slip I assume) and the fact that she didn't have socks on, she was so sad because she loved the pj's them self.

So..I grabbed scissors and cut the feet off, they had elastic at the ankles and I cut around it.  I'm pretty sure DH thought I was crazy but she was so happy and praised repeatedly that they were all better now.

  • Well done! DS1 also freaked about footie pajamas in the fall (just after he turned 3). He had never worn anything else in the winter, but obviously didn't in the summer. He likes to wear socks and freaked out when he couldn't see them anymore. Even when I undressed him and showed him the socks on his feet again. It was pretty funny, actually. Yeah, he has 2 piece pajamas now. I should have cut off the feet. At least he has a younger brother who will hopefully enjoy unused footie pajama hand-me-downs.

  • I would do the same, hey, it worked right?

  • H flipped out. Said I was catering to her quirk pretty much. She is obsessed with socks right now so I think that was part of it and then not liking the grippies.

  • When I was growing up, we always cut the feet off if I had those.  Too hot otherwise.
