Is this weird? Or is it just me

So my sister had her baby last night at 41 weeks. She had decided she didn't want anyone there but her fiance which both our family and his were completely fine with. Well, she went into labor sometime last night and her fiance sent a group text message to his parents, her mom (she's my half sister), and my parents and all it said was "Baby is here. Mom is doing good" That was at 7am this morning and no one has been able to get ahold of either of them to find out what hospital they are at, baby's name, weight/length stats...nothing. I understand wanting some alone time but it has been over 12 hours of no news on anything and now everyone is starting to worry something is wrong with her or the baby. Is it just me or is it a little weird to not tell anyone anything for this long?

I'm starting to worry something is wrong. She lives 2 hours away from any family so they don't have to worry about anyone invading them visitor wise which I'm sure is nice. I think the family is just worried that we haven't gotten any information. She didn't have prenatal care until 5 months and then refused every test and ultrasound so there could very well be an issue

I think it's super weird but I'm like @Samanthaashley93 by the end of my hospital stay I had breastfed in front of easily 30 visitors haha my husband is very social and we both have big families!

I would be starting to get worried too!

I think it's weird but maybe she had a rough delivery and is tired and just wants to rest?

I hope everything is ok.  I would be concerned, too.  Either they really want some privacy, or they are dealing with something regarding the baby.  Sending good thoughts!

Weird, but I can totally see my DH doing that. When he sent the message after DD was born he didn't think to mention anything about "mom doing well" and one of my friends was worried something had happened to me. He also sucks at picking up his phone on a normal day. I hope you hear something soon. Is it possible they forgot their phone chargers?

It's weird, but this is what I'm picturing:
Mama: Hey, DH, text the family and let them know.
Papa: ok (sends text: Baby's here!)
Several hours later....sleep deprived and overwhelmed.
Mama: You texted everyone right?
Papa: definitely.

No actual discussion of what was texted. If my parents hadnt been in the waiting room, I honestly don't know when my brother would have gotten any real info out of me. Granted, we did have complications, but everything tuned out fine.

I got a text from her finally that just said the time he was born and his weight. Still no picture or answer when we ask how her and baby are doing. And we still don't know if it is a boy or girl...

I think it's weird, I'd be worried sick!!

When I had Owen, I was texting my friends and even my boss less than an hour after I had him with all his stats!

Congrats on being an aunt though!! :-)

That kinda sounds like us. I only had my husband in the delivery room who sent a text with a picture to our family but i didn't want any visitors at the hospital. All my family and friends were told to come visit once I was home with the baby. The only ones that I agreed to visit while at the hospital were my parents who flew halfway the globe and were staying with us ( and because they were bringing me food).
I think it depends on their personality? Either way, hope everything is ok!

We finally heard from her this morning with his birth time and weight and it's a boy! She sent out the basic stats and that was it. I am thankful he is healthy and everything is ok but no idea why she waited 24 hours and let everyone worry
