I have so much milk in my freezer, some of it has to go. I've looked into donating to local hospitals, they don't accept it. I've posted on the Eats on Feets fb page, nothing. So, I went to a web page. I was going to post an ad for what I have available, but in bright red letters it says that you aren't supposed to post anything not pasteurized. They have a tip page, saying to heat the milk to 145 to pasteurize it.
First of all, won't that kill off a lot of good stuff in the milk?
Second, do I unfreeze everything I have, heat it, then refreeze? That doesn't seem healthy either.
So many of the ads say that they've got hundreds of oz frozen, and they need freezer space etc. I can't imagine that they all pasteurized their milk first, not knowing they'd be offering it to others.
So, do I offer to pasteurize it before shopping? Just say it's not pasteurized?

Re: Pasteurizing breast milk
I'm in a small town. We don't have much in the line of local options. I was told the closest hospital that accepts it is 6 hours away. But I'll see about those other sites!
Am I right though, about that 'downgrading' the milk quality?
