Twin Girl Name Help

Hi ladies! I am expecting twin girls in May, so I still have some time, but I am having a hard time with names. DH and I and even MIL really like the name Nora. I feel like it's a nn for a longer name though and nobody likes the longer names I come up with. I'm also worried it's too short to be a good sibset with our DD, Olivia. Also, I am drawing a blank on a name for the other twin. So...feelings on the name Nora? Other suggestions for names that might make a good sibset with Olivia? Thanks so much for all your help! :-)

Re: Twin Girl Name Help

  • Nora gets a lot of love here.  I think it's a nice name, but a little meh.

I am assuming you have already suggested Eleanor as a possible longer name?

The Olivias I know (4 of them) have siblings named Lily, Ava, Mia, Ella, and Addison.

If you want names a little more off the beaten path:

    Laurel and Fiona

    Cora and Elise

    Gemma and Colette

    Willa and Zara

    Tessa and Corinne

  • I prefer Elinor/Elenor with the nn Norah. Possible sib names: Natalie, Lorelei, Isabel, Bree, Violet, Jocelyn, or Diana

  • I don't like Nora. Too short and bland. If you were to use it as NN for, say, Eleonora than I'd say go for it. With Olivia I'd pair Mathilda and Dorothy.

  • I like Eleanor with Nora for a nn but DH isn't a fan. Thanks for all the suggestions ladies!

  • Love Nora and I know an Olivia with a sister Naomi. So maybe twins, Nora and Naomi?

  • I love it (though I prefer the Norah spelling). Other names to go with Olivia and Nora:

    Charlotte
    Lucy
    Audrey
    Lily
  • Love Nora and I know an Olivia with a sister Naomi. So maybe twins, Nora and Naomi?

Please for the love of all things that sparkle, don't make them have matching names that start with the same letter. SO cheesy.
  • I don't care for Nora. I like the suggestions vof Matilda and Bridget. Or

    Sonia & Daphne
    Greta & Darcy
    Viola & Leta
    Anna & Paige

  • I think Nora and Olivia are lovely together and Nora doesn't seem that much shorter than Olivia.

I think Nora, Olivia, and Abigail sound really nice together.

  • I think Nora stands on its own as a name and it's very pretty. I'm stealing a sib name from a pretty active Bumpie who's also a S12er. Her DDs are Nora and Tessa and I think they go wonderfully together. Good Luck!

Great suggestions! My niece is named Zara and my dream future DD name is Willa ( but won't happen because of a Will in the immediate fam).
