We have had a few independent steps over the last few days and two new words/sayings - "uh oh" and "pop" (which is when we pull the plunger out of the 60ml syringe with her tube feeding). DD is getting SMOs to help her with stability as well.
D said banana three times the other day! Pretty sure he also said Lightning (as in McQueen), but I couldn't get a repeat on that one. He has been babbling up a storm, which i absolutely love :x
1. DD1 finally got the hang of zipping a zipper. She's been doing well with buttons and snaps for a while, but zippers were a struggle.
2. She also made friends with another kindie girl who we see at preschool drop-off for DD2, and yesterday the two of them asked me and her mom if they could have a play date
3. Today she fell and got mud on her tights on the way to the bus. There were a few tears, but she calmed down after a minute, and she was totally fine when the bus got there. When she got home from school she told me that when she got to school she got her spare tights out of her extra clothing bag at school and changed. I'm so happy that she pulled it together and took care of this herself without a fuss. A year ago she would have had to come back home immediately and change.
We were doing DD1's homework last night, and for the first time she had simple math problems. She completely breezed through them and I was so impressed.
She is really getting more of a personal sense of style. She's picking out outfits for herself now, and not just content to choose from the two that I lay out in the morning. It's nice to see her being less passive about that, and so funny when she walks in in an orange/pink/white/brown dress and purple leggings and says, "Don't I look fancy-schmancy, Mama?" LOL!
We have a lot! We were tear free for our third day of preschool and participated in every classroom activity for the whole time. DD joined a new school friend in a non preferred activity. she participated for the full thirty minutes in her first speech session with her new therapist, had nice eye contact, smiles, and did lots of mimicking which has been a challenge in the past.
SLP assigned us some more complex WH questions (see my other post) for DD. One was to ask what various animals ate. Some of those questions I knew DD would already have an answer for but it would have been more of a rote memory thing. So after we got home from SLP we were in her play room bouncing around on her mini tramp and DH randomly asks her "What does daddy eat?" which is something we've never asked before, she paused for a moment and threw her hands in the air and yelled "DADDY EATS THE A1!!" lol, which he did eat that evening on his steak. She has since told me daddy eats Cheese, and fries and ketchup. I can't even describe how happy this makes me.

This week we took DS in to get checked by the pedi. The cough of course changed to a real cough at this point.
DH was coughing this morning and DS said to DH "drama queen." LOL! DH was saying he was not a drama queen to DS. I couldn't help but to laugh.
