Hi ladies!

Good luck to everyone cycling!!  We'll be thinking of you tomorrow @kaf7!  There seems to be lots of exciting things going on - ladies going back to the RE and starting up cycles... keep us updated!

This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently TTC again, either on their own, or via injectibles, IUI, IVF, adoption, etc. Occasionally, I do a bit of clean up. If you have dropped off and would like to be added again, just comments and you'll be back in business

TTC again, even after successfully bringing home a LO (or multiple LOs) is a stressful process for all of us, and this group is meant to allow us the opportunity to provide support and suggestions to one another, and to receive the same in return.

A check-in will be posted every week. Please send me a PM or reply to the check-in post if you would like to be added to the group.  Each check-in will provide the opportunity for you to provide an update as to where you currently are in your TTC. 

QOTW:  What is your favorite meal to make (or eat, if you don't cook!)?  Have you tried any new recipes lately?  Share them if you can!!  (I'm obviously in a cooking rut!)

AKB090609- I had an us yesterday to check for cysts since I'm on cd48. The tech saw 'something', but of course couldn't tell me what. Waiting is hard. 

ancp27 -  1/15 - We are TTC, kind of. We planned to go back to the RE this month but still no AF. I'll start charting for a few months once it's back. I'm not sure if we'll do any IUI'S r go straight to IVF. Hopefully we'll get lucky again.

Byrne15 - TTC #3, no treatments this time. Just hoping for success the old fashioned way

Ducky719 – 1/15 - Still no AF here...just waiting and waiting.  Not that I'm in a rush for her to show.  PP cycles are just wonky.  LO will be a year in a month...that's when I'll probably start doing BBT again and charting.

Mnerani - 1/15 - Excited to have a positive update. From what I can tell, I'm 4 DPO without meds! I made this post a couple of days ago, but we decided not to cycle this month after a crappy canceled IUI cycle and I temped and used OPKs for the heck of it- shockingly I ovulated on my own. Now I'm in this dreaded 2WW you hear so much about

BabyKsMommy  - 1/15 - Well after my cycle being cancelled I took provera and ended last Wednesday and still no AF. But I am inconsistent when I get it after taking provera so hopefully it will come soon. 

Bellalou - 1/15 - Start protocol tonight (1/16) !!! FET date is 2/3!

chiwifey -  1/15 - We were all set to start IVF with my upcoming cycle in about 2 weeks. However the tentative ER/ET week DH will be in Rhode Island for work  Initially my new RE suggested very minimal bcps and begin stims and then I asked about not doing them at all due to over suppression. He agreed to that but now I'm going to see his thoughts on doing minimal bcps because that could push a week or so and DH would be back in town and would could cycle earlier than the end of Feb. Not sure what he'll say but it was his idea to begin with so I don't see why he would say no. If he does though we'll be waiting to cycle at then end of Feb/beginning of Mar. I know I should just relax and let it be but the new DOR diagnosis has me seriously stressed about time.

ccam -  1/15 - Started estrogen patches on Saturday and just waiting for my transfer on 1/30.

Efhoping2010 - 1/15 - I have an order for CD 3 blood work from my last clinic, they are going to test AMH and FSH.  Clinic 1 did not return my call yet.

Emwaiting - TTC #2, I have never checked in before.  We had to do IVF for #1 and we were lucky to have IVF work on the first try.  DS is almost 3 months and I am currently on day 4 of Provera.  I will start Clomid and Femara after AF arrives, monitor follicles and then do timed intercourse and see what happens.  Drs think our best chance for #2 is to try ASAP and we are sooo lucky DS is such a good baby!!!

fullfhope - 1/15 - No real update here, just waiting for AF then expecting to start IVF cycle. Not sure what/when to expect this because it is only my second pp.

Hadams85 - 5 days into my 2WW. Had my first IUI last Thursday. Trying to wait oh so patiently for next week to test. No signs or symptoms yet, almost like nothing has happened.

Hopeful1981 - TTC #2, currently on CD34 waiting for AF to start so that I can embark on my IVF cycle.  I have endo and have been on Lupron since CD23.  Will be stimming with Follistim and Menopur. 

Kaf7 -  1/15 - Transfer is Thursday (1/16).

mdiblasi10 -  1/15 - Still waiting for AF to start IUI #4. Today is CD31, lots of spotting and feeling like she will be here tonight or tomorrow morning.

MoFree - 1/15 - We have decided to do a natural cycle FET in February. I would have preferred March but there's a conference at the end of the month that I need to attend. I feel so much better that I won't have to take Lupron.

nycbride0707 - I go in Sat for one last check, and then hopefully everything looks good and transfer in Sunday, with beta 11/19. Been doing PIO since Tues, man I'm sore!

PennyLane26 - 1/15 - AF began on it's own on Monday - no need for Provera (woo hoo!!). Had CD3 bw and u/s this morning and have a sono scheduled for next Wednesday. Then I'm done with pre-cycle testing and looking ahead to our FET for next cycle! Yay!!

readyornot24 - 12/27 - My ivf was a bust, got the dreaded BFN call yesterday. I will be on hold for now until my wtf appointment and then go from there.

Rjade9 - I'd like to be added!  We have our appointment with our RE next Thursday to come up with a plan for our FET.  In the meantime we are not, not trying

kzawisl -  1/8 - No update. Still saving our pennies and hoping for Menopur donations from OOP meds or my RE.

millie1984 - 1/15 - We are not actively trying yet, but MH and I have an appointment with our RE today to talk about IVF for TTC#2.  We are going to go over things like cost and if our insurance will cover PGD, etc.  We are also going to see if I am a candidate for IVF.  So we're hoping to come out of the day with a game plan and more of a timeline for when we want to start officially TTC again.  

Robeano - 12/27 - after some soul searching, I'm gonna take a break from trying until I get down to pre-pregnancy weight. I gained a bunch of weight in the last two months and I don't want to start off being pregnant this heavy.

Mcgeeva - 1/15 - No update here..counting down the time. 8 weeks

RoseHQ12 - 24 weeks & so happy to be at this point. GTT today & looks like I passed phew! SCH still lingers, it's my other "baby" at this point!

Imoverit – 1/15 - 27 weeks today. Yay 3rd tri!! Have OB appt Mon and will discuss leave. Passed my 1hr test. Wooohooo! 

Wiscgirl95  - IVF cycle successful! beta #1 is 66

Mr.& Mrs. Woodtick - 12/27 - Our follow up ultrasound looked good. Baby is still a boy, and our AS is scheduled for Tuesday (12/31/13).

TJ1979 - 16 weeks today. Feeling better most of the time. My back is hurting REALLY badly, but other than that sometimes I forget I'm pregnant. Loving feeling deuce wiggling around in there!!

Cwhitaker27 - 12/27 - I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow. We told our families on Sunday at "our Thanksgiving".  I just told the doctors I work with today since I was off mon/tues sick and throwing up all day. They were/are very supportive so that's great!  We are telling the rest of our family and friends via our Christmas card next week. Overall still feeling very sick but happy to let the cat outta the bag mostly.

Eve_Angelique -  1/15 - going to have my first u/s tomorrow. I will be 8 weeks on Friday so I am hoping everything looks great!! 

Kdfecarie - 1/15 - i am still pregnant, bleeding has FUNALLY stoped and i go back tursday for another us on tuesday! Fingers crossed!

carrera317 - 1/15 - 7 weeks today. Fingers still tightly crossed. Ultrasound on next Tuesday and hopefully an RE discharge. Bleeding has stopped thankfully but the worry has not. Today I am pregnant though. 

Kissies - 1/8 - I got ruled out for ectopic. Still waiting to hear back about uti they wanted to send culture, so it'll be a few days. Progesterone getting checked this am. my bleeding is less but seems to change everyday but has stay very scant amt. So far we have one little baby due august 29th. with hb of 120. Re is getting ready to discharge me to ob. Next ultrasound will be 23rd. Dr. says still at risk for miscarriage because of bleeding

Thanks for the shout out! Transfer is Thursday. I was looking up DOR meds when responding to a post that @chiwifey made and now I am questioning whether we could have had a better response with not using menopur. My RE wasn't going to use it on me but we had just enough for the cycle left over from when DH was on it so to save money he put us on that instead...now I'm wondering if we could've had a better result and more options if we hadn't tried to save a few dollars. Ugh!! I know it may all be a moot point but I hope that I can have a clear conscience if this embie doesn't stick. Stupid hormones!!

In other news I was super nauseated last night after my 3rd dose of prometrium. Not sure if it was that dinner didn't agree with me or if it is the meds. I hope it was dinner...

And DH is barely coping with looking after LO and the dog all day. LO screamed at him almost all day yesterday. I feel badly, but it is also really nice for me to see old friends, have a nap if I want, or read a book when I want to. 

QOTW: I love a ham sandwich on a bagel. That doesn't help your cooking rut though. The friend I'm staying with made a new recipe the other night and it was some arugula with a tahini dressing, quinoa, roasted cubes of butternut squash, and chicken. It was pretty good. We agreed it could use something else and thought some chopped green apple might have worked.

QOTW:  I like to make quick meals that taste good, but I don't have many that I love!  I need to utilize my crock pot more!  I love making Mexican food, like fajitas with cilantro lime rice and black beans.  It's easy and everyone loves it, including DS.

QOTW: I am the cook in the house so, needless to say, I like anything that is easy! I typically do the prep work while G eats dinner and then put it together and cook it after she is in bed (she goes in around 6, we eat at 7). I love easy meals - turkey meatloaf/turkey burgers, pasta with meat sauce, tacos, any and all versions of chicken breast (breaded, chicken parm, grilled, stuffed). I try to do a vegetarian meal at least twice a week (we buy organic and meat gets expensive!) - I'll make a couple nights worth of soup in the crockpot or make ravioli and salad.

Here is an easy, healthy and delicious recipe to share:

Southwest Chicken Salad

1 rotisserie chicken, shredded (though you could make this vegetarian and skip the chicken!)

1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped

1 bell pepper, diced

1 avocado, diced

1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup frozen corn, thawed

1 can black beans, rinsed and drained

Dressing: Mix together 1/2 c plain greek yogurt, 2 T mayo, 1/2 packet ranch seasoning, 1/2 packet taco seasoning (though I usually make my own).

Toss all ingredients with dressing and serve!

QOTD: Favorite food to cook is Stuffed Peppers but DH hates it so I don't make it often. I am terrible at cooking meat but I'm actually proud of my meal from the other day. I made beef stew which I only made once before in the crock pot and it was terrrrrible. Meat was hard as a rock etc. But this time..I guess I did it right..so delish!

We have decided to do a natural cycle FET in February. I would have preferred March but there's a conference at the end of the month that I need to attend. I feel so much better that I won't have to take Lupron.

DH and I will be apart for a lot of Feb and March, so this might be our only chance until later this spring. Not to put too much pressure on myself...

QOTD: You are going to kill me, but here in Kenya we actually have a house staff, including a cook, so I don't do much cooking except eggs in the morning. But there are lots of cons about living here, including the cost of pregnancy tests- $35 each for a digi!
