Potty Training

Potty trained 2.5 year old

We potty trained our 2.5 yr old almost 3 weeks ago. He was definitely ready and took to it right away. We had minimal accidents and he really got the hang of it. Now, almost 3 weeks later he seems to have regressed a bit. He is having more wet accidents (not completely emptying his bladder, but he'll start to go before he tells me or he'll start to go and not even tell me - though the latter is rare, he does usually tell me). Granted, I know its still a new skill and will take time to perfect, but I just find the regression frustrating.
Is it possible he is just distracted and that is causing him to forget to tell me until he starts to go? Or maybe he is looking for attention since during our first week or so of training he was getting constant praise (and treats) every time he went? Or are these type of accidents totally normal and Im just expecting too much and over reacting?
Side note: he's not having poopy accidents (thank goodness) - just wet.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated :)
