  • Sorry about the formatting- does anyone know how to fix it? I am on an iMac.
I have to run and get ready for work so I'll play with it later- I just wanted to post it now because I will be on mobile the rest of the day (I can't access the bump at work :( )

    Thanks!

  • I had an appointment yesterday and they officially diagnosed me with pregnancy depression so I have to do depression tests every appointment and right now i scored lower on the scale so we are going to try some things before taking meds but if it increases I might have to go on them. I have been feeling a lot better so I'm being positive it won't get worse. They also want me to get growth scans every 3 weeks which shocked me because I thought it was only for twins or high risk but I guess my OB is just being cautious. I have an ultrasound next week and looking forward to that.

QOTW: I sit in my house and wait for the snow to melt lol I hate winter.
  • @MishaBelle521 I like the new SN by the way! I hope you feel better and find a tx that works for you soon. It's a brave thing to seek out help for something like depression, good for you for reaching out. And take the extra u/s as an extra peak at your LO. Sounds like your OB just wants to be extra cautious.

  • Hi Everyone! 24 weeks 5 days here... I can't believe the 3rd trimester is around the corner. No big updates or appointments. I have my 2-hour glucose test on MLK day since I have the day off and refused to fast while working (my poor students!). Then my next ob appointment is on the 22nd.

I'm a girl from sunny, southern California, so no winter sports for me. Today, the forecast is for sunny skies and 78 degrees. I grew up a swimmer and swam competitively for 15 years. Rain or shine, I was in the pool, mostly twice a day. So we didn't really go up to the mountains and I never learned how to ski or snowboard. My hat's off to all you ladies dealing with the freezing temperatures!!

  • Hi girls! Hope everyone's doing well. I am 17 weeks, wow! I finally have a bit of a belly forming (well, at least it's noticeable to me, not sure it's noticeable to anyone who doesn't know I'm pregnant - but I'll take it! :) ). And my pants are feeling tighter - I may have to give in and buy some maternity pants this week - any recommendations on good places to buy maternity dress pants and jeans? I have an OB appt this Friday where we'll probably get to hear baby's heartbeat which is always reassuring, but then we'll have to wait to see baby until 2 weeks when we have our anatomy scan and find out the gender. I'm super excited for that!

QOTW: No winter activities for me. Like ball.and.chain mentioned I have been interested in going snow shoeing but have never gotten around to it. Maybe next winter!

@PhillyJ33 ~ Not sure if this will help, but when I did the first tri check-ins I kept all of the info in a word document and then would paste it here by using the Paste as Text button that they have.
    @ball.and.chain ~ Welcome to 2nd tri!
@whoberry ~ Hope your anatomy scan goes great and that you and your hubby can agree on finding out the gender or not!
@MishaBelle521 ~ I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from depression, but I am so glad to hear you've been feeling better.

  • I don't think I've been added yet. . . July 9th :)

I'm doing good. Got my NT back and everything looks really great. I'm looking forward to my next OB appointment on the 27th. I've started picking out some baby stuff here and there.

QOTW: I normally ski but will not do that while pregnant. I've never tried snowboarding but DH goes snowboarding with friends every year to Colorado, Washington and other crazy places. He likes to make me worry by boarding off trail. GAH! Men!

  • @whoberry - I'm excited for your appt! Let us know how it goes
@MishaBelle521 - I'm glad you talked to your doc about the depression. I hope you can find something that works for you. How is the nursery coming along? New pics!? :)

Can you add me please? I'm due 6/26 with twin girls!

I'm 16w5d today and feeling pretty good! I definitely have a bump and it's getting bigger every day. The nausea/vomiting has toned down to only a little morning gagginess and nighttime nausea, which is awesome. I've gone one whole week without throwing up (new personal record, woohoo!)

We're currently trying to get the nurseries together, which means clearing out all our (ok my) crap and making room for their stuff lol. We bought cribs and carseats for a really amazing price and now are just working on the registry and stuff. Nothing really to do until 2/04 when the anatomy scan is scheduled! :)

  • Pretty crazy to believe I'm heading into third tri.  Today I am 27+4 and feeling pretty good.  Definitely been eating more, which is good since I've had alove/hate relationship during this pregnancy with food. Have my next appt on Thursday just for a checkin and hoping it's smooth sailing from here!

QOTW: Also from SoCal so not really into winter sports.  A few years ago I thought it would be fun to take up snow boarding so I went a few times and eventually dropped it.

  • @katekat8721 we actually just cleared out the rest of DH's crap so we can starting cleaning and touch up painting and then start putting up the decor. Now that you know your having girls have you thought about themes?
  • @MishaBelle521 - that is exciting. I can't wait to see progress pics. We're working on clearing out our crap too lol. We have two small (10x10) side by side rooms, one I'm making into the sleep room and one the functional room with the clothes/diapers/rocking chair/etc. I am thinking of doing mermaid inspiration - blue/gray/green walls, white furniture, mercury glass, shells, pops of coral, and maybe some driftwood or whitewashed frames and stuff. I am having a hard time finding an inspiration picture that ties this all together! But here is a pic that I lurve!

I am having too much fun on Pinterest, lol.

  • @katekat8721 can I have a bed in that room? Lol that sounds so amazing and relaxing! I'm so excited for you!!
  • @MishaBelle521 - haha, right?! That's what I'm going for, nice and relaxing. I figure I'll be spending a lot of time in there so I want to make it pretty and comfortable. I say it's for the babies but who am I kidding, they don't care, it's for me!! :)

  • Hi ladies!  I'm 17 weeks today - time flies!  No real big updates, though I have gotten my appetite back with a vengeance and now want to eat everything in sight (except for chicken still).  I had lot of round ligament pain this past week, but haven't noticed anything pop out anymore than it already was - I popped around 14-15 weeks - so it's probably just growth.  I THINK I felt baby move last week - it was a split second and it felt like bubbles, and that was it, nothing since.  Now that I'm 17w hopefully I'll start to feel something happening in there, but I am taller with a lot of space for baby to go, so I'm thinking it might take a little longer for me to feel baby than for some others, but who knows.  When did you ladies with singletons start to feel baby move and know for sure it was baby and not some other bodily function haha?

Otherwise we're still on the hunt for the perfect crib - I think I've narrowed it down to one or two brands, I just need to make a stinkin' decision already!  And we're still trying out wall colors, which isn't going so hunky dory, I'm just very picky about this stuff.  I've also unofficially started to make some of my registries on BBB and BRU.  I only added a couple things that I saw in passing and didn't want to forget about.  We also finalized our stroller pick, now we're just waiting for the 2014 version to be released and I'll add that, too!  We're going with the Baby Jogger City Select - I love it!  Two big things that is has going for it is that you can add a second seat, so no need for a new stroller when baby #2 (FX) comes along, and it had an adjustable handlebar for us Amazon women - that was key!  I end up kicking the back of a lot of the other strollers because my stride is so long.  I got the BOB Revolution for jogging during the Amazon sale last week, and we already set that up and started playing it with haha.  I was also told that we will probably want a simple umbrella stroller, so I might pick one of those, too.  I know baby can't go in it until s/he is older, but hey if someone will spring for it, why not!

QOTW:  I'm an avid snow skier and I love it...and I love winter and all seasons!  It's part of why I love living in the North East :-)  I'm actually really bummed that I can't ski this winter since the resort that we have a timeshare at has so much snow and I see their fb updates everyday!  Our annual family ski trip is in a couple weeks, and I'll be spending my time shopping and getting prenatal massages.  Doc did clear going in the heated pool, just not the hot tub, so hopefully I can hit that up, too.  It's outside, so it's actually pretty cool if it's snowing and you're in the pool!

  • I'm 25 weeks, and can't believe third tri is approaching so fast.  That doesn't seem possible!  Still getting over the flu that hit me hard last week, and looking forward to not coughing anymore, hopefully soon.  Had an OB appt on Friday which went well, other than the 1-hour glucose challenge test, which I failed (172, and the normal range is 60-139).  I go in for the 3-hour test on Saturday.  Hoping and praying I pass it.

QOTW:  I love winter sports!  I did a lot more when I lived in a ski town (Crested Butte CO), but now I live in the city so I don't do as much.  I love to snowshoe, x-county ski, downhill ski, and I used to snowboard too, but sucked at it so I sold my snowboard.  DS is 7, and had ski lessons the past two seasons, and just went up for his first snowboard lesson this year (which is where I'm pretty sure I caught the stupid flu, sitting around the lodge and restaurants with DH all day, waiting for him since I can't ski too!).  We also bought snow tubes for Christmas this year, and took DS tubing which was a blast!

    Me: 42. DH: 46.

    1st Pregnancy: MC, 11/19/00.

    2nd Pregnancy: DS born 04/10/06.

    3rd Pregnancy: CP, 03/11.

4th Pregnancy: MMC, D&C 11/30/11, Genetic testing revealed Trisomy 4.

5th Pregnancy: Ectopic, 2 doses of Methotrexate unsuccessful, surgery 4/10/12, right tube removed.

Tried Letrozole January 2013-July 2013 (including 2 IUIs), all BFN.  After 2 1/2 years of trying for child #2, decided to "give up" after July cycle, based on AMA.

August 16, 2013:  BFP our first month of "not trying!"  Still in shock.  Beta #1 (14dpo): 183.  Beta #2 (17dpo):  611.  Ultrasound 8/30/13: baby measured 6 weeks, 1 day, heart rate of 118 bpm!
Ultrasound 9/13/13:  8 weeks, heart rate of 176!

  • Hi Ladies!

I hope you all are having a great week!

@ Misha - you have all of our support seeking treatment for depression of pregnancy!  I know my hormones are all over the place, but not as bad as what you are going through. keep moving forward!

@ KateKat - Congrats on making it a week without vomiting.  I am almost there (six days, yea!)  still taking the zofran occasionally at work when I feel it coming on.

I will be 18 weeks on Friday, and I have the anatomy ultrasound that day!  DH is coming too, and we will remain Team Green, but I can't wait to see his face when he sees the babies.  He says he can hear their heartbeats when he puts his ear to my belly!  Is that possible, or is he just hearing me?  I also finally feel better after struggling with a cold since Jan 1st!

I had my monthly OB visit today, and I am proud to say I've gotten back to my pre-pregancy weight of 135lbs!  I know that you all will understand this because I am happy I gained 6lbs in the past 4 weeks, and he said that I "wouldn't want to do that every month"!
I didn't say this out loud, but my personal feeling is that he can kiss my ass because if I gain 6lbs per month for the next 5 months, my weight gain would be 30lbs!  I want to gain 40-50 and have 2 good-size babies!!  (Thankfully I knew going into the appointment today that he has a reputation for telling women not to gain "too much" weight during pregnancy!)  I just feel bad for the other women that probably trust his judgement!

  • @cinnamonrollcupcake Thank you for the formatting lesson!!!! I think I got it now!

I am 25 weeks and 3 days! I had my OB appt yesterday and will go back in 3 weeks for another check up and lab work. I am nervous for the glucose testing because there is a history of diabetes in my family so I guess that puts me at higher risk.

QOTW... I don't do much in the winter anymore! I used to ski but was never very good! My friends and I used to rent a house in the mountains for a weekend or so and that was always fun. I am more of a summer person and love the beach.

  • 27w5d today and currently waiting for my blood draw for the glucose tolerance test. I can't believe this is my last check in for 2nd tri! Were doing good. I feel like my bump us growing like crazy and the babies move all the time!! We had our first shower last weekend and it was so surreal and overwhelming.
Qotw: I used to snowmobile as a kid but never tried to ski etc. I've broken my leg twice and had some pretty extensive surgery on it so there wasn't much desire to try plus my parents would've killed me lol.

  • Hi there, Ladies! 23 weeks Monday - my babies will be here before I know it. No new updates, really - other than these sweet babies are kicking the crap out of me! It still doesn't hurt yet, so I love it. DH can feel it, too, which is neat, and sometimes the kicks are so big you can see my belly move. We may have decided on names, we know we want to name the girl Lillian, but we have mixed emotions on the name for our boy. He wants Leonidas. I was really against it at first, but it's growing on me and my whole family loves it. Besides, I just want to give him a name already! lol.  He's also considering Liam, but there are a ton of boys being named Liam these days.  Thoughts?  ;)
I go to the Dr for another us in a couple of hours - but I'm not as nervous as I used to be now that I can feel kicks all the time.
I do find myself thinking about and checking on @MaiTaiBeth a lot - I pray all the time for her sweet girls. The thought of delivering at 25 weeks is just crazy and nerve wracking.  I'm really looking forward to hearing everything is going well.
QOTW:  In the winter, I stay inside, play piano, bake and sew. That's the extent of my winter activities. Even better if the fireplace is roaring.

@katekat8721 - That sounds totally gorgeous.  Totally.
@tryingyetagain - I hope you pass your next glucose test!  Like we need this to be any harder than it is!
@MishaBelle521 - Depression sucks.  You have all our hugs, T&P and love - do whatever you need to in order to get better, Momma.
    @PhillyJ33 - thanks for taking over!  :)

  • I am a day away from 20 weeks! Yikes. I have been so anxious to start feeling them and I "think" I felt a few movements the past few days. It makes me teary-eyed! I am getting pretty big:). Scan was great last week and fun. I know you guys know that everything that tells us things are going ok gives us yet another big sigh of relief! Finally starting to feel better but then got a bad cold. Almost over it! Had two friends offer to do a shower so now I have to sit down and decide how to divide up my invites? I feel so weird asking people to a party! I'm thankful to have good friends and fam! So glad to have you girls and hope all continues to be positive. Hugs for those under stress this week.

  • Hello ladies!
On my 3rd week of bed rest, only 10 more to go :) We had a cervical length and a growth scan today.  My cervical length was 2.7cm with the pessary in (normal length)..quickly went super short to 1.2cm when they took it out to clean...at least we know its doing its job. Babies are measuring great, "Girl" is 1lb 4oz and "Boy" is 1lb 8oz.  They mentioned that his fluid is a little elevated and could be mild polyhydramnios, which can correlate with gestational diabetes... So well have to see about that one.  They are kicking the crap out of me..very, very active. Had a little meltdown yesterday about a lot of things...I'm in this for the long haul and will do anything for healthy babies, but bed rest does wear on you...just need an ugly cry once in a while.

  • hang in there @monimu13 ! You are doing such a good job and taking great care of your babies. I can't imagine how hard bed rest is, but you got this!

  • Hey Ladies!

Sorry I am a little late here, but I would love to join the 2nd tri check-ins, if you will have me. I am 14w tomorrow with an EDD of July 18. I'm pregnant with twins, and we are Team Purple! I'm thrilled to have made it past the 1st tri hurdle and am feeling great now! I was worried I would never be able to eat veggies again, cause the sight of them made me so nauseous!

QOTD: I absolutely hate winter and wonder everyday why we live in Chicago! Cold, snow, ice...it all sucks! I like to stay inside in my pi's as much as possible in the winter. It does make me appreciate the beauty of the other seasons in Chicago though!

  • @monimu13 - I can't even imagine how crazy I'd be on bed rest.  You totally deserve an ugly cry and a vent session.  As many as you need.
@JSM0801 - Welcome!  Congrats on your team purple as well, I'm also expecting one of each.  I had the exact opposite problem as you on the veggies, though.  I couldn't really eat anything else except fresh fruits and veggies, and they're still what I want more than anything else.  I have to make myself get enough protein.

At our ultrasound yesterday, we got to see the babies, and everything's going well.  They've been shifting positions, and I think Lillian's head pressing down on my cervix is probably what makes me feel like I have to pee ALL THE TIME.  Lillian measured in the 40th percentile for a singleton, which the doc said is fine, and her brother (Liam or Leonidas) is measuring in the 50th.  I would've liked to have seen them a bit bigger, but they're doing fine.  It just reinforces how important it is for me to get all the good nutrition I can right now.  Cervix looks good, it's at 4.3 cm, which doc says is great and isn't likely to change any time soon.  Whew!  This whole being lazy thing is paying off.  :)

  • Hi ladies,

I am in my 25th week.  I had contractions/cramping for four hours on Monday, but luckily my cervix remained long and closed.  Basically I was told I need to rest more.  I am still working full time but just need to rest and drink water on my days off.  I want to keep working as long as possible because I carry the benefits and provide 80% of the household income, but I know I need to be less active, I need these girls in as long as possible.  This time in pregnancy always makes me nervous 24-32 weeks!

Fetal echos were done on tuesday and both girl's hearts look good.  Also no signs of twin to twin syndrome.   Next appointment in on 1/29 for growth.

QOTW:  I have no coordination so I stay away from winter sports.  I would love to leave the Jersey area one day for somewhere warmer.

  • Hello ladies! Can I please be added? I'm 14 weeks and 6 days today. My due date is 7/12/14 and we have one bean. Met a midwife on Monday and it went well other than we couldn't hear the HB with the doppler so it scared me. She did an US and baby was fine playing and kicking. I'm still experiencing occasional headaches and get tired easily. I started sleeping with a body pillow so I'm still getting used to it.
Qotw: used to snowboard a little bur not anymore :)
  • I'm just over 20 weeks woohoo and having a girl!!! :). Still have morning sickness :(. But we are excited feeling her move around. I don't have an appointment for another 2 weeks.

I don't do much winter sports I don't like winter much.
  • hi ladies!  I'm a bit late to the check-in this week.  We'll be 18 weeks on the 22nd - time is starting to fly now!  Found out we are team Purple, Baby A is a girl, and Baby B is a boy!  We have our a/s this Friday the 24th, and are super excited to get another good long look at our little wonders.  Once we found out the genders I got anxious to start really planning and buying things - so I ordered our nursery furniture yesterday!  My mom ordered our crib bedding and it arrived yesterday, it is super cute!    https://www.amazon.com/Snickerdoodle-Piece-Baby-Bedding-Cocalo/dp/B00929WQGG/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1390171164&sr=1-2&keywords=cocalo+snickerdoodle  The nursery has pale green (think pale lime green) walls with white trim and white carpet, so I really wanted something calming and neutral with lots of texture - this is perfect to me!  We'll decorate with some baby jungle animals and art.

I'm with FutureMrsW9 in that I can't wait to start feeling them move!  I don't think I've noticed any movement yet, definitely not anything that feels different from normal body feels.  Every night when I go to bed I rub my belly until I fall asleep, and ask them to let me know that they're there...nothing yet, but I'm sure the day will come when I will be wishing they were calm and quiet in there!

  • sarah_beth2005 - Welcome to team purple!!  :)  Adorable crib set, btw.  Looks like it will be easy to match things with, in neutral colors. I didn't feel my twins move until right at week 20.  I kept asking them, too, and wondering when I'd feel them.  After they start kicking though, they really start kicking!  I love it, and don't get tired of it, but it does make it hard to sleep sometimes.  Also, it's a bit awkward if you're getting frisky and babies start kicking you.  :)  I suggest not mentioning it to your DH until the 'afterglow', LOL.

A little over 23 weeks. RCS is scheduled for exactly 16 weeks from today. I had a quick scan done yesterday. Our reveal on NYE showed a Girl but U/S report discussed at my OBs on 1/10 showed Boy. #2 is definitely a Girl :) Next app't is 2/6. I will then have the Glucose test done at the next app't.

QOTW:  I love sledding but haven't done it in years :) No skiing here. I am not coordinated at all.
